Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock announced

Quote
Warriors of Rock will include a newly-designed guitar controller inspired and born from the game's unique art style and specifically made for "shredding." With this controller (or presumably with one of your countless old plastic guitars), you'll play over 90 "guitar-shredding tracks" included on the disc -- which Activision notes is the largest on-disc collection for a music game yet. Apparently, it'll involve shredding.

The Gene Simmons-narrated Quest Mode will take players from the CBGB club in New York City to "the molten lava fields of rock treachery" to defeat "The Beast." In more gameplay-related news, developer Neversoft is adding a Quickplay+ mode, featuring 13 challenges for every song on the disc -- and every DLC song released since Guitar Hero World Tour. Challenges include Band Streak, High Score and Power Challenge, in which players choose any two previously unlocked "warrior powers" to attempt "ridiculously high scores."

The first set of announced tracks is posted after the break.

I don't care about Guitar Hero. The "warrior" gimmick is really stupid, too. I just want more songs that I can play with my friends. Bring on Rock Band 3.

How has Bodies never been in a Guitar Hero game?

It came out in Rock Band earlier this year. Can't remember if it was DLC or RBN.

Kill it.  In a fire.

I wonder if Archie still cares.

I've never cared about Guitar Hero since Neversoft took over.  I'm drooling at the prospect of Rock Band 3, though.  Keyboards are already confirmed and HMX is hinting at some pretty major shakeups to the rhythm genre, which is a good thing since I'm getting burnt out on these games.

Nice tracklist. It even has a semblance of a story mode. Would consider getting this.

Edit: Has Powerman 5000's When Worlds Collide been in a GH game yet? That should totally be in this.

Powerman 5000: very kewl. I gold-starred all 3 Rob Zombie DLC the other night, and felt like a pimp. A ZOMBIE PIMP. His little brother's band is more varied. It's also worth looking into Electric Hellfire Club, made up of other peeps RZ cast off when he went solo.

Also check out Scum of the Earth (the band not the RZ song). Riggs and Tempesta formed it after Zombie started making movies in 2003. They've got some cool stuff. They just continued the Zombie style without him.

Oh, hey. Yeah, them too. I found them on eMusic.com when looking for RZ stuff, and it suggested "like Rob Zombie..." -- very much like RZ. :rofl
