Playing the game with friends was a blast.  Not everyone had capable PCs for first-person shooters and it was a lot easier to play on one TV than hauling computers around.  A lot cheaper too. 

We used to love playing it during downtime at work.  Goldeneye multi was the first thing I really liked on the N64.

Sly Cooper HD/3D collection for PS3?

It started with Kratos, and now it seems another beloved Sony icon is getting his own upgraded anthology. A slightly blurry photo (above) from our Sights of E3 collection shows "The Sly Collection" being advertised, and it's hard not to notice the "3D" label in the right-hand corner. Sly Cooper is a Sucker Punch creation, and right now they're hard at work on Infamous 2 -- but fans wishing for more thieving raccoon action can at least check out the compiled games, transferred into HD.

The sickle (it's pattern/texture is reminiscent of the peace signs from Snake Eater and Peace Walker) and question mark makes me think something MGS related, but we'll see.

I just saw the Dead Space 2 live demo.  Actually looked pretty good after the initial "this player sucks and is getting swamped by dead babies" part.  Speargun looked fun as did the slow-mo grenades and machinegun, looked like it had a heavier focus on action (looks like RE5 gameplay on RE4 atmosphere), and the gorgeous citscape out the window was pretty.  Plus it had a random gunship shootout for no reason.  All in all, it alleviated some of my worries about the sequel.  Looks like a fun RE game like the original.  Best thing I've seen from today's E3 stuff.

Eh, GoW collection is awesome.  If they bring out a Sly Collection in 1080p with 4x AA and 60fps I will buy it since I never played the series and PS2 games at 1080p/4xAA/60fps look pretty nice by todays standards.  Better than Wii games!

Dead Space 2 does look great.  The best part for me was shooting off a monster's blade arm, then impaling him with it.

It is a 2011 game, btw.


err, what's wrong with these collections again? they put out the same movie on vhs, dvd, blu-ray, etc. as the tech improves.  It hardly seems like a laborious process to convert them, and Sucker Punch is working on Infamous 2 as well.  It's not like God of War 3 suffered for the collection.  And like the God of War collection, it will probably be at a budget price.

Well I bought the GOW collection because I never finished either game but I'll gladly be chained to the rock of shame for rebuying ICO and SOTC even though I already own both and own a PS3 that's capable of playing them.

Holy Shit @ Rockband 3. I never gave a fuck about music games but the instruments are now actual digital instruments, guitars with real strings/full frets etc, keyboard can be plugged into computer used with Pro Tools etc. Fffffuck. That's pretty damn cool, this will actually be a pretty great way of learning these instruments now.

Highlights:

Kicking Jason West's ass in Medal of Honor multiplayer. It looks and feels just like BFBC2, just with some new UI art.

m3w7hr33 having a massive orgasm in the middle of the Sony booth when PS3 Time Crisis was announced.

Epic Mickey looks so much better and the brush stuff and how it can reveal hidden paths and affect the environment is awesome.
