are you seriously quoting sales numbers as an argument towards quality

really, now

Seriously.  Wii is overloaded with crapware that's just as bad if not worse than the Kinect bullshit shown.

Kinectimals was neat, but you cant jack off the animals.

Dance Factory is amazing. I would love to try that.

yeah, but you're young, i can see the appeal in that dance game for the younger crowd

i can clearly see they're never going to do anything that would appeal to me, like an rts, a headtracking flight game, or a tactical combat game

The only way Kinect was ever going to work was if MS was able to make it available for 60 bucks.  At $150 this thing is going to go right into the pile along with all the other failed videogame add-ons.  This is going to tank.  Tank hard.

At least Move has the potential benefit of possibly being cheaper, but god only knows how well it'll be supported so it's not like I have high hopes for that either.  Both seem like shit.  Just like the Wii.

for one person, move will be cheaper

for two or more, it'll be way more expensive

but i have to say that of the two sony seems to be taking the safer, smarter route, and they already have a shooter using the move lined up to at least throw a bone at launch to that crowd

I don't know if Natal will be a failure or what.  I keep likening it to the other inane products that have sold well despite the high price.  Think about Wii Fit, all the music games, the Wii, etc.

I'm not trying to defend it.  All I'm saying is that people aren't very smart with their money.

I think MS feel in love with the notion of a controller less add-on to differentiate themselves but when it came to actually make the games with that technology, they really didn't know how to do it. They are gonna have to use a lot of smoke and mirrors to sell these things.

So how is the Star Wars Kinect thing gonna work? Do you just move your hands around or can you hold a stick or something like it's a lightsaber?

I like holding onto something.

What MS should've done is concentrate on making an actual game that uses both the controller and Kinect in a way that would make their existing user base WANT or at least consider purchasing the add on.  Right now, nothing shown looks even remotely interesting and I'm having a hard time understanding just how they're going to market it to the non-gamer market (i.e. the Wii crowd) that'll make them want to buy one.  To them, it'll look like just another fucking Wii, something they already got.  Why on earth would they want or need this thing?

When that rumor surfaced of Kinect/Natal being 60 bucks, I thought it might've had somewhat of a chance of grabbing a chunk of the market mindshare, but now I've got no hope for Kinect. None. Nada. Zip.

Looks like the only thing MS got partially right this E3 was the redesign, but I still think it's overpriced.   IMO, 5 years later this thing should be retailing for $200.  Their iPod pricing model only goes so far if they really want to expand.

That's an issue more for Sony I think, since they have the exact same setup but with HD, which Wii owners have already proven they don't care about. At least Microsoft can say "yeah but you don't even need a controller for ours".

Of course it's a moot point since they're both garbage and hopefully die painful deaths.

Yeah, it's more of a 1:1 thing with Sony's Move and the Wii but really for the non gamer crowd it still won't seem like that much of a difference between Kinect and the Wii either.  I really can't foresee people biting on this....thank god.

The sooner Kinect and Move fail, the better imo.

Finally took a watch to the whole thing... honestly (and I'm surprised I'm even saying this) the COD game at the beginning looks the best. The rest mostly look 'been there done that'. I guess the Kinectimals was kinda cool.

For those of you who are interested in the ESPN deal, there is a fine print.

Quote from: EPSN
"ESPN on Xbox LIVE, providing great content from ESPN3.com and ESPN.com, is only available to Xbox LIVE Gold members. For access to ESPN3.com content, Gold members must receive their Internet connection from an affiliated broadband provider."

Here's a list of the approved affiliates:

It's the same ESPN3 I can access from Firefox?

What a sham  :lol
