Do the puzzles come more hot and heavy when you get to the industrial area?

They are a little more difficult but I'm not really sure they ever get "hot and heavy".

I just mean more frequent, and engaging. I played for a good 20 minutes yesterday and did a lot of running to the right, and I'd like that to be punctuated by more than just hoping on some twigs and pushing a trap or two back and forth. Say what you will about Braid but there were almost zero screens without a puzzle.

I've seen video of the later areas, with big gears and the dude being chased by ghouls and stuff, that reminded me of Oddworld and might be more up my alley.

Is there level select when you are done?

I just beat it and got all the hidden shit last night in one sitting.

Yeah I played for less than 2 hours last night and my game says 60% complete. Gonna beat it tonight and use a guide for the hidden eggs. I think I'll try the 5 death run through, but it could be frustrating.

Finished up Limbo. I feel good that I didn't have to cheat and look up any puzzles since I generally suck at these kind of games.

The gravity stuff is sweet. Bought, played through and finished it in one sitting today. Took ~3 hours. I'm pretty keen on Hydro Thunder Hurricane, The Guardian of Light and Castlevania too which means I'll prob pick up monday night combat for the hell of it as I'll get teh 1200 pts back as a bonus for buying all of them.

Yeah. The gravity stuff is good. Honestly all the puzzles are really good. There isn't one that I thought was bullshit which generally doesn't happen in a game like this. The very final puzzle I actually got lucky on. I solved it by accident but once I did it felt cool.

True, well you've gotta buy all of them before a certain period and you don't get it for up to a month after the sale ends so maybe they just didn't meet conditions or didn't realise it can take so long to get refunded.

Yeah, I'll buy all 3 of those at $10, but since I'm not in a rush to play them I will pass at $15.  $10 and under is an impulse purchase for a videogame.  If I see something I'm interested on steam sale for $10 or less I'll usually buy it.  $15 for me is out of that impulse range and I pass on the majority of steam sales that are $15.

I'll probably wait for a sale on all of these summer of arcade games too. Limbo looks good, but I have artsy indie puzzle game fatigue right now. Hydro Thunder should be fun, Lara Croft might be okay, maybe I'd get Castlevania if it were $5... Don't care about the other one.

I'll be saving my points for Guwange, Shank, KoF2002UM, and Clash of Heroes.

Guh? Save for the IGN review, the rest of the reviews are pretty good. It's odd that there's so much disparity between GameSpot, 1UP, Joystiq and then the IGN review.

I won't comment on the quality aspect since I haven't played it but calling out derivative in the video game industry seems like a waste of time. Everything is derivative of everything. Doesn't stop things from being good.

technically every game is derivative yes, but generally I'll only use the term when a game looks to be derivative in a blatant, unpleasant way. (see: Monday Night Combat)

I won't overly argue this as its kind of pointless without knowing whether it sucks or not but compared to most other shooters on the console platform this is one of the least derivative shooters out there by comparison in the shooter genre. I'm sure there are some similarities between this and some other games ala TF2. But without having played it myself I'm not willing to go there. Not to mention the people who made TF 2 themselves put out a dog shit version on consoles so its no like there is much competition in this space.

Hmm am considering it. Then I can work at being one of the first to 200 it! :hyper A bit worried about the "Boned" achievement though. I hope it doesn't "bone" me  :'(

Yet Harmony of Despair has no sympathy for failure. When a boss claims victory, you start from the very beginning of the stage, with nearly a half-hour wasted. That's right: the first time you die, you have to make another run through the whole mansion. The second goddamn time you die, you have to make another goddamn run through the whole goddamn mansion. After the third time, you start using words that my editors won't let me print.

That review also had other complaints. Like the shitty gear upgrades which is more of an issue to me. Although of course a review is just an opinion among many. I'm saying I was skeptical and still am. But obviously I'll wait for other reviews or impressions from people who actually play it.
