Didn't see a dedicated thread.

Looks better than I thought it would.   Weird seeings so much gore in a MGS game, even thought this is a spin off.

It looks like any other generic DMC/NG clone, except worse because it stars the still ultragay Raiden.

still think this is probably the most violent stuff I've in a game

will totally buy.  I thought it was 360 and PS3 but apparently it's PC too.

I hate how everyone dies in one hits. Just looks like a poor man's action game.

I was just thinking about how they'd handle something you couldn't cut.

also, I think it looks most like Samurai Western.  I don't think anyone else played that.

Could just be cannon fodder enemies.  I'm guessing the showpiece encounters would be with mechs.

slicing dudes looked fun the first time.

But now, it's just a shitty trailer. Locations look like from a tech demo, and the guy moves around like he's just chillin. And his hair is even more gay

Looks like a really poor action game from the footage and it's not really impressive on any level to me except graphically, but hey, it's only the first trailer.

The trailer gave me a hard on, don't know if it was because of the ultra violence or the ultra gayness of Rayden.

I feel that the title producer can mean so many different things in the game industry.  It seems that "director/producer/lead designer" is used interchangeably in this industry.

It's even different across territories, with director being used in East and lead designer or developer being used in the West.

Japafag force assemble!

This is never coming out in Japan. CERO doesn't allow dismemberment. I can't see how they're gonna release it unless this is Kojima's way of getting CERO to change the rules. He said on his Twitter a few months back that he is making a very taboo game and it may be the end of his career. He's gonna have to fly Wada in his private jet if he wants to get this certified.

That's interesting...

eh, they'll just censor it.

I don't think this game will be the one that will end his career since he's hardly involved with the game in the first place.  Unless he means it'll flop and bankrupt konami and he'll be out of a job.

this game feels like...2 years away.  no information about it at all and the gameplay looked like tech demo material, not actual game.  Maybe Kojima will spill the beans at Sony's conference.

The reason that the censoring doesn't make sense is that you can sell a game in japan literally about committing incest with schoolgirls while squirting "soap" on them and bundle it with a cock-tugging/prostate-massaging attachment.

CERO would never give that a rating, either. You could never sell it for consoles. This is about what CERO will allow.

jesus christ raiden looks uber distinguished mentally-challenged now.

i never would have thought that they'd be able to top his MGS4 design but they did so easily and dialed it way past 9000.

and i agree that what was shown seemed to be nothing more than to illustrate what the core gameplay will be like.

Kinect enabled

Quote
Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be compatible with Kinect, Hideo Kojima.
The game puts players in the role of returning character Raiden and is based primarily on sword combat, which is controlled by the newly-named motion controller.

“I felt it was important for my team to come up with something new,” said legendary developer Hideo Kojima, before the game was demonstrated during Microsoft’s E3 conference.

Kojima bitchslapped by Sony

Quote
Hideo Kojima was one of the guests of honors at today's Xbox 360 press conference, taking the mic directly from Microsoft VP Don Mattrick to introduce someone who went on to introduce Metal Gear Solid Rising.

But Kojima's status for tomorrow's Sony press conference, and indeed his relationship with Sony as a whole, is in question now thanks to an incident that occurred following the MS presser.

As Kojima detailed at his his Twitter late in the day, he and his staff went to pick up the wrist bands that would serve as their tickets for the Sony conference. They were told "Please put this on your arm now." "Even though it's tomorrow?" wondered Kojima. Producer Kenichiro Imaizumi asked, "Are we supposed to wear this in the bath and when we sleep?" (Man, I hope he said "shower" instead of "bath" though.) He was told, "It's waterproof. Or would you rather come again tomorrow and wait 20 minutes?"

This little passage brings up a question. Why exactly does Hideo Kojima, the creator of Metal Gear Solid 4, which is still a PlayStation 3 exclusive, have to get a wrist band to attend any Sony event? This presumably means that he won't be speaking at the event.

After being told that some 600 people are wearing the band, Kojima gave up, put it on and took this picture.

There is a Konami conference on Wednesday (or later today) and that is where all those crazy extended MGS were shown on the past.

If he's having dinner with famous stars and stuff and wants to leave a good impression, coming off as a videogame junkie is horribly embarrassing.

It's like if EB got to go have dinner with Obama and was forced to where a t-shirt that says XBOX RULES.
