I just got around to seeing most of the games announced.

Pretty solid. Kirby actually looks appealing and retro somehow made me not hate diddy kong. I'm glad they got rid of the kremlings too.  As a fellow wii sports resort defender zelda looks like itll be fun for taking its cues from there. Combat already looks more involving.

Yeah but, there's no room for c-buttons. Oh rightttttt, the d-pad.

OoT and MM work fine on the Gamecube or classic controller.

Can we talk more about how Kirby's art style is superb? Really loving it. Also it's cool to see the gameplay look like Kirby's Adventure, hopefully it will end up a little more involved than that game, but it's a real strong base to work with.

I actually think the new Zelda, Epic Mickey, and Donkey Kong are going to be great.  Just a little disappointed they didn't go with the hyper-sytlized toon shading for Zelda though.

The new Metroid doesn't really interest me.  Probably because the only Metroid games I've finished are the Prime ones.

I'm cautious but optimistic about the 3DS.  The elephant in the room is that that type of 3D only works within a certain distance and a certain angle so that could be very bad for a handheld device.  There's no way I'm going to buy one until I try one in a store, but the design of the 3DS looks great (finally an analog stick) and the actual way that you use motion to tilt around in 3D seems a million times better as far as game design than the way 3D could work on a fixed TV or monitor for PC and console games

have you tried either OoT or MM on the Gamecube? they map the C buttons to Z and X/Y.  chances are they'll do something similar here.  X/Y are two items,  other things are on the touch screen.  For playing ocarina music, that will be on the touch screen too, probably.

I don't remember. For the past year any time I play OoT or MM I emulate it via pc, and I use the right analog stick to emulate the c-buttons.

Neither are on their list of 2010 games.

Hopefully it just means an early 2011 release date, instead of just out-right cancellation.  :-\

aren't both big RPGs?

considering that Sin and Punishment 2 came out last year in Japan, has been out in full English in Europe for over a month and still isn't going to be out in America until the end of this month, I think it's safe to say that they just delay these things a bit.

Not to mention that even if it doesn't come to America, a translated version is still possible.  Disaster or Another Code R are both in English for their European releases.

Where the hell are my animated gifs? :maf

There were only two conferences that were gif worthy - MS's and Ubisoft's.

Come on, just because Nintendo won overall doesn't mean their show wasn't awful.  It's like sticking a blue ribbon on the corniest turd.

They have a release calender to fill. They space these big hits out so you guys don't sit with a thumb up your ass wondering why there aren't any games coming out. A steady stream of big games spread out over the slow season is preferable to them blowing their load early on and leaving the consumers high and dry with nothing to look forward to for several months. That's how they maximize profits, by not competing with themselves.

I'm willing to wait for it, just wish they'd give it a solid release date.
