I've never even tried the first one.  It's on PC, right?  Is Demi right about it being artsy-fartsy tripe?

Of course not.

As long as your expectations are reasonable its a fun game especially if you pick it up for the right price. (Steam sale or something) Fun little physics puzzler. It's something you can beat in a good afternoon. More of a puzzler like I said than a combat game although there is combat. Some people don't like the last level because its a big jump up in difficulty in comparison to the rest of the game which is pretty easy.

The last level was very very very very bad, easily the worst videogame level of this generation. What were they thinking? WHAT were they thinking?

I'm never buying Trine 2 unless they announce that they've hired some people who know a thing or two about game balance.

there was something written about the first game last week or so where they mentioned the last level was never tested or only tested once compared to the other levels

The last level has been patched though and it's perfectly fine now.  I beat it on my 3rd try.

Go play it.  Game looks AMAZING on PC.  If you like graphics, you will like Trine.  Very, very good art design.  Great animation.  Music is nice too.
Gameplay is fun.  That's all that needs to be said.

I loved it.  Will get the sequel on PC day 1.

Ever play The Lost Vikings? It's like that but with more depth. Just a neat puzzle platformer with some purty graphics. I still regret passing on it during the Steam Christmas sale in favor of Braid

Trine is shit. Played THQ shovelware on the GBA that was superior to this game in the action/adventure genre. So boring, and physics puzzles are zzzzz

Although I disapprove of my candor, my stance is unchanged. Trine is a pretty, boring game.

I just started playing the first game (beat the intro and first main level) and it's pretty good so far, very nice graphics. I can see how the physics puzzles and combat would get stale though.

Can't complain, got this and SpaceChem and a shitload of other games for $5.
