I didn't see any kind of official thread for this yet.

Guys! OMG! It's out today!

Who's going to see it this weekend? I AM! With two of my friends. Digital 3D!!

If you have seen it please refrain from posting spoilers until at least Sunday night. After that it's your fault since you should have seen it already.

Right now it's sitting at 100% on RT. GET HYPED!!

The ending

More sad than the beginning of Up, but in a different way. Really the most emotional bit in any Pixar movie. God damn. Perfect end to a trilogy too.

Going to see it again, this time in 3D, in an hour.

Saw it last night. It's pretty great, not as much as the first two, but a very satisfying conclusion. There is a sheen of sadness that haunts the whole film, and it's pretty dark in comparison to the first two. If there was ever a film that embodied the whole "growing up and leaving childish things behind" theme, it is this film.

3D sucks, don't pay money for it.

After reading the spoilers I weep for this generation of adults who seem to live in perpetual adolescence. Armond's review isn't that different to other reviews that complain about Ken and the 'Dreamworkification' of Pixar but he doesn't fall for the sentimental drivel other reviewers do.

I mean like really Andy going to college to get laid and get wasted and he thanks his toys for the memories. wtf?

Atleast Toy Story 2 was about old people.

Cheebs says it's the best Pixar film by far. Now I kinda want to see it just so I can troll him. I'm sure it's good but there's no way it's better than Toy Story 1.

It's not the best Pixar film, but I think it might be the most ambitious in terms of emotional content. It's not a better film than the original. It lacks the coherency and finely tuned script. It's just not as polished.

It is, however, really fucking good. And in a dismal blockbuster season, probably the best out there. So it doesn't surprise me that the hyperbolic Cheebs is foaming from the mouth. He often forgets about films released more than two months ago.

I don't understand how going into a movie prejudging its quality is helpful to you. You're only closing your mind to something you might have enjoyed had you been open to it. Even from a critical standpoint, regardless of the stereotypically Pixar tear-jerking schmaltz, Toy Story 3 is a great film, but you're convinced otherwise before even watching it! Simply because other people love it so much you want to hate it.

I don't feel I'll ever be able to wrap my head around some of the sad, petty people that populate this forum. Is the misery of other people really that delicious? I can't say we're tasting the same thing.

I would have preferred to have seen the 2D version. I thought the 3D version was pretty much a waste. It's not detrimental to the experience, which seems why it's garnering some praise ("Wow, 3D that's not completely atrocious!"), but that just seems stupid. Since when is 3D good simply because it doesn't suck?

Just go see it in 2D.
