A much needed cool front is moving through the northeast. It's barely broken 70 deg. F which is a nice change since it will be back in the 90's by the end of the weekend.

it's been raining like everyday in Houston for the past two weeks.  And when it hasn't rained, it was just horribly humid from the rain.  Fuck this city sucks.

The bad thing about central air is that it's not very efficient.  Why cool the whole damn house when it's just you in one room?  It's a big deal in California since Gray Davis was suckered into signing a ludicrous contract by Texan con men.  

My power hogging PC already pushes the bill to $200/month.  Using central AC for just 6 hrs/day would at least double that.

My AC was messed up this morning and it was ridiculously hot indoors.  The second I woke up I threw all my sheets across the room and ran to the panel to see what was wrong.  At least outside isn't so bad and cracking open the window helps a bit.

my plasma + PS3 increase the temperature by like 10 degrees.  but the window AC unit overpowers the sound a bit and I hate blasting my TV.

when my ps3 and tv are on with surround sound i have to turn the ceiling fan on and turn down the air. 

but i set my a/c at 75 at all times (except when i'm at work i put it at 80) and i pay 70 dollars a month for electricity.

Our a/c has some kind of swamp cooler mode that works pretty well. It's nice just to be free from some of the humidity.

It's a dry heat.
It's an extremely dry heat.  You go outside and your hair is cracking and your mouth is constantly dry.  Going inside doesn't help a lot like it does in humid areas.

OTOH I spent an entire day in the building at work yesterday in Osaka, dry cool air from arrival to departure. So cool in fact that I had to wear a hoodie in the office. Then I forgot and wore it out of the building. Ewwww, man. So clammy.
