There was a show on the Science Channel showing the sky pool being built. Crazy shit. It's pretty cool how each building that it rests on kinda splits in two also. I didn't understand their explanation of why it's called the infinity pool until seeing these pics.

  initially thought there was a 'sky' ferris wheel in the first picture of the smaller structure (part of this marina bay sands hotel complex?). also it appears the hotel offers base jumping for its residents..

SINGAPORE: The recently opened Marina Bay Sands integrated resort experienced an embarrassing hiccup Tuesday.

While the Chief Justice of New South Wales was speaking at a legal conference, stage lights went out and the sound system went dead.

It was a blackout which did not amuse the audience.

MediaCorp learnt several members left while those who stayed were moved to a smaller conference hall.

Tuesday's fiasco is not the first to plague the integrated resort.

A number of delegates who'd checked into the hotel last week complained of air conditioners not working, luggage delivered to rooms two hours after check-in, and toilets that did not flush.

Some delegates were even trapped in lifts for up to 20 minutes.

An organiser of the legal conference said the facilities have not been up to expectations.

A spokesperson said they've been working with the organisers to ensure the success of the legal conference.

I just saw this building on Really Big Things.  That cantilever (huge lip on the side) is especially amazing.  It's designed as a party deck for weddings and such.
 
But the engineers were worried that if hundreds of people were dancing to the same beat, then that might make it unstable since every object resonates at a certain frequency.  So they had to have an engineer sit down with an iPod and thousands of songs and test them all.  Theoretically, there are some songs that the deejays aren't allowed to play.

I can see that but they should have just made a giant Poseidon (or whatever God of water they bow too) bulging muscles and shit with his dick out that squirts fresh water as a water feature. Fuck this uninspired sheeit.
