He was always a surprise to see him be this kind of nutter. Not that I pretend to know any celebrity and assume they're all narcissist borderline sociopaths until proven otherwise. I coulda seen Mr. Hollywood Charming just be a another human caught the downward spiral of substance abuse anyone can fall into. But it really doesn't seem like that.

He's in a borderline cult that broke off from Catholicism because it found the Vatican to weak kneed in embracing modernity (lololololol). I'm not interested in "goin' to the tapes" to compare, but it does seem he was fairly functional 5+ years ago. It just seems weird.

My favorite part about Mel Gibson is how he originally seemed a bit weird with the whole cultish Christian thing (I remember seeing an interview where he essentially said his ex-wife who he was married to at the time was going to hell because she wasn't in his cult) but then how he seemingly went about proving all the worst aspects of his character in the last 15 years or so. Not that I care in the sense that its his life and he's filthy rich so I'm sure he doesn't care what I or anybody thinks about him but at one time this dude was considered Hollywood royalty.
