As a former Charlotte Hornets fan (since inception) and current Bobcats fan I honestly don't think that's in the works.
There are a lot of new people in Charlotte in the last decade and a lot of current Bobcats fans are against the switch.
I don't think it will bring back enough 'pissed off' Hornets fans to make it worth while, and the Hornets stuff has been tainted in New Orleans (they tweaked the colors to shitty and the logo.)
They've done studies. Personally I thought we should have been allowed to keep our history (such as it was) ala Seattle and Cleveland Browns, but the NBA didn't agree.
So to me, the Hornets era died when they left Charlotte. Dell Curry is still the leading scorer for the Charlotte Hornets etc. It's a closed history and I'm ok with that.
You don't punish the fanbase that supported the Bobcats by making all their stuff 'worthless.' Costs too much money to switch the names and it won't help attendance that much anyway.
LJ, Zo and Muggsy aren't walking through those doors. The Bobcats have done a better job embracing the Hornets history since Jordan came aboard. I think the Bob Johnson era ignored the Hornets and that kinda pissed me off.
Can't pretend like it didn't happen. Can't really go backwards either though. But hell, after this season is done the Bobcats name might be so tainted that I'll feel differently
