And that is one of the reasons why the knicks don't scare me. Jr Smith is the modern day John Starks.

That's the problem with JR. He's just good enough to completely fuck over your team as you watch him shoot you out of the game.

Knicks not scaring anyone right now, and this feels like the 10th minor injury Melo has had this year

i'm going to try to watch the Pacers a lot for the remainder of the season - they look like the more likely team to challenge the Heat.

It is also time to start cutting out all tanking teams from my viewing schedule although the draft looks so weak at this point that no-one seems to care much about it so far

Before the trade deadline passed, the Boston Celtics had one final choice to make on the franchise's future: In a three-way deal that would've secured Josh Smith and surrendered Paul Pierce to Dallas, Atlanta wanted Boston's first-round draft pick, too.

As much as any of the proposed deals discussed in February, perhaps this had been the closest Pierce had come to parting with the Celtics, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Dallas had constructed a package that included Jae Crowder, Brandan Wright and Dahntay Jones to Atlanta, with the Mavericks and Hawks exchanging positions in the 2013 NBA draft.

Nevertheless, Boston wouldn't relent on the pick and the deal died on meeting-room grease boards in three cities.

I've said it before but man Birdman was a good pickup for the Heat. He's made Joel Anthony utterly irrelevant.

Now they just need to amnesty Mike Miller.

The thing is compared to anthony he is an offensive genius. He can actually score if you get it in close enough to him in single coverage directly next to the basket and he can roll to the basket. Something Anthony is terrible at.

Quote from: Bill Simmons
Most fans love the idea of Rudy: 6-foot-8, defends either forward spot, good athlete, unafraid at crunch time, seems like he's good. Nobody wants to accept that he's a horrific shooter — repeat: horrific — who excels at posting up smaller defenders, and that's about it. Math doesn't lie: According to Hoopdata.com, Gay is shooting 25 percent on shots from 16 to 23 feet (the worst percentage of anyone who attempted three-plus shots per game from that range) and 23.3 percent from 3 (the worst percentage of anyone who attempted three-plus 3s per game). In other words, Gay attempts nearly 10 shots per game from more than 15 feet and makes two of them. I stand by "horrific."

yep.

I charge the Lakers with tampering. This needs to be investigated by the NBA front office. Rudy Gay is clearly a sleeper agent under pay and direct orders by the Lakers organization to throw this game.

Nice comeback for the Lakers. In a sense these are more impressive as Kobe is great games rather than the Lakers are playing well. I mean these were games against Toronto, and New Orleans where they needed massive comebacks but still. They are more than on track for at least an 8th spot with an outside chance at maybe 7.

Rudy Gay is so bad that Hollinger is unnecessary. With the Raps, Gay is shooting .380 from the floor and .239 from three. He's averaging 2.8 assists and 3.1 turnovers. Yet his PER as a Raptor is higher than DeMar DeRozan's.
 :rudy

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--rudy-gay-takes-issue-with-grizzlies--embraces-challenge-with-star-hungry-raptors--230326752.html
Quote
Rudy Gay says the Memphis Grizzlies' new ownership didn't give him a shot to prove he was worth a multi-million dollar investment before it traded him in a three-team deal to the Toronto Raptors in January.

"You have to give me a chance to see if I'm worth that," Gay told Yahoo! Sports.

. . .

The struggling Raptors appear to believe in Gay. General manager Bryan Colangelo already views him as the face of the franchise, and a source said he will likely offer a contract extension in the offseason.

"I needed a change," Gay said of the trade. "I needed a new situation. A new task. I needed a new task with something I could grasp, something I could take over. I need to be challenged."
Shooting over 40% isn't enough of a challenge?

No, Rudy didn't look for his shots too much. If anything, he's been trying to be more of a point forward to get his teammates involved. He missed a lot of shots but that doesn't mean he took a lot of bad shots.

Quote
bunch of crybabies....worst fans i've seen in all sports..

Quote
You guys are just hating on Rudy. Even lebron has bad games, Rudy scores 20+ points he is the best thing that ever happend to the raps and he has a bad night and he is worst thing that happened to th raps

Quote
He is a damn good player and it was a trade that upgraded the talent of this team. Yes, we'd all like him to be more efficient and a better decision maker but you are going to get chucking games that are inefficient from him from time to time. . . But what I've seen of Rudy so far, is that you simply take the inefficient games from him with the other good games, it tends to balance out.

for the love of god stop the f*cking bitching and crying.. after every lost a player gets singled out on this forum. he's garbage, he's sh*t, he's this, he's that.. it's the same fu*king crap after every game we lose.. you guys will be the same people licking the dirt from under rudy gay's feet if he drop's 30 plus in the next couple games. DD went from being the guy you guys gave the name deBrick, to the guy some of you are labeling our go to scorer.. he drops 8 points in next game and it's back to trade this bum Debrick.. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE SHUT THE F*CK UP WITH THIS BIPOLAR CRAP!. if i was a mod i would just lock threads

I wouldn't call Gay a chucker.

If we drafted Rudy instead of Bargnani, this entire franchise would've been different. We would've been a wrecking force here with Bosh Rudy and TJ

his,,,,,, good and great players have stretches of bad games, relax. Rudy has made this team better. We were in last nights game right to the end.

Calling Rudy Gay a tier 4 or 5 guy is an absolute joke. He is absolutely that second level star guy.

And I thought Leaf fans were bad--all Toronto sports fans are terrible.

The thing is I think Rudy seems like a nice guy so I don't really like to slag him off. If he was an arrogant asshole that would be one thing. He's just a player who is completely overvalued based on his physical attributes. He's like an NBA version of Jeff George.
