Not surprising to me. There had been a lot of criticism of the way the Pelicans ran their offense (they were near the bottom in passing and transition scoring).
Also, teams seem more comfortable these days firing coaches after good seasons. The idea is some coaches may be good at developing young players and creating a professional culture, but might not be able to take the team to the next level. The Grizzlies and the Warriors have had good results after doing this, the Kings not so much, and the Thunder should arguably have moved on from Brooks a couple years ago. I'd throw Randy Wittman in there but this postseason has been so weird.
