why are they called the celtics with a soft c?

Not to be confused with Cal Tech.

Good effort from Toronto all series but Boston just a bit too talented.

Boston versus Miami.

My brain says Boston but Miami has been really great all play-offs. I think I've overlooked them because I find it hard to have a historical comparison for what kind of team they are. Should be a good match-up though.

Don't think we match up too well against Boston.

Heat might have to drag things down to the mud like Toronto tried tonight. Robinson has to shoot better than the last series. If both him and Herro get things going, it would help a lot.

I don't actually understand the matchups in that series. Both teams are full of these long wings that can switch and do a little of everything. It's like this modern version of basketball that is fundamentally different to me than something like the Lakers or even the Clippers who are a bit in that mold too but who I understand a lot more.

I didn't watch a lot of Miami basketball all season until that bucks series and that seemed like a team by committee where you shoot a lot of three's, ride whoever is hot for the game, and just play great D.

You're right for the most part. Boston's wings are younger, more athletic and can do just a bit more. Jimmy's probably going to facilitate when he's on the floor. Dragic will also have a hard time guarding Kemba.

Shorter lineups during the playoffs, but this Heat team is very deep and still has a few people that haven't had much playoff action. Both Nunn and Olynik contributed a lot during the regular season, but haven't seen too many playoff minutes.

Houston is pretty shorthanded but they also look like they just want to be gone from the bubble.

Lakers were pretty impressive once they went small. No matter what happens here on out, I'm satisfied with the season. This is about as far as I expected them to go with a kind of cobbled together lineup for this year.

The Rockets are basically just at their cap. Westbrook isn't a great fit for that system which values only 3 point shooting. They can keep on running it back and they would always be a tough team that could reach the final 8 in the playoffs probably but they just aren't good enough to get beyond that. And its not like they have cap room or draft picks to improve anymore.

Not sure why the clippers are choking on finishing off the nuggets. Not a great look. That team has so much talent but its crazy how they just turn it off so much.

Game 7 tonight Clippers Nuggets.

I mean the clippers have the experience and talent so you'd kind have to be crazy not to pick them but still what a struggle for a series that should have been pretty easy for them. I still label them the favorites to win the whole thing but its certainly a bit worrisome how low gear they can be.

And if that lose tonight what a disaster that would be.

Glad Miami won after that iffy call at the end of regulation that let Boston tie it up.

Heat up 2-0. Never thought Jimmy Butler could be the best player on a championship contending team. Especially when the 2nd best player is .... I'm not even sure who that is on the Heat because they have a lot of capable players but maybe not another conventional "star".

I didn't want to jinx it but yeah I think the Lakers match-up well against the Nuggets. They have plenty of big men to throw at Jokic. And I don't think they play especially good defense.(The Nuggets I mean)

And murray is great but I don't fear him 1 on 1 the way I do a Harden or Lillard.

But the nuggets have been a killer 2nd half team so its probably best to just wait and see what happens.

back to debbie downer for a sec. I hate when the lakers get a big lead and Lebron decides to slow down the game to pad his assist numbers. The offense always goes to shit.

The Chicago Bulls have hired former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan as their new head coach, the team announced Tuesday.

Arturas Karnisovas, the Bulls' executive vice president of basketball operations, aggressively pursued Donovan after the coach left the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources said, selling Donovan on a partnership and vision for a talented young roster and a chance to lead one of the league's anchor franchises.

After that first game Lakers are lucky to not be down 2-1. They've kinda played like crap since then. I think they should go small. Less Dwight and McGee. More like how they played with the rockets with more shooting on the floor.
