Haven't played either so I can't comment on if they are decent or not but free is free.

Joe Molotov had a great thread over at NeoGAF filled with a ton of suggestions for free adventure games:

Best ones I've played recently is the Yahtzee Quadriology: The Chzo Mythos.

Ben There, Dan That was really awesome too.

I haven't updated that thread in a long time, and I haven't kept up with the latest releases either,  but as far as I know Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos is still pretty much the best thing ever.

Link to the first game: http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/5days/

The "Special Editions" of his games used to cost $5 through Paypal, but I see now they're free. :rock

Edit: Blah, you beat me, Bebop. ;)

Edit2: If you're not blown away by 5 Days a Stranger, that's okay, the series gets better as the story progresses through the later games. The 3rd game, Trilby's Notes, is OMGAWESOME.
