Which "two series" rpg is better? These are the only two jrpgs i know that revisits the same gameworld. Gotta love Baten Kaitos though, I'll go with those games because of superior story.

I still haven't played the Baten Kaitos games. Heard good stuff about them.

I liked FFX and FFX-2, btw. Both games are at least one billion times better than FFXIII.

never played bk but i'm sure ffx-2 crushes it because it's so omg fun. GREAT combat (best in the series) and tons of content (although lots of the mini-games are shitty) makes for one of the best games in the series. ffx tho is dated and dull, with a battle system that takes to long to go anywhere and way to many awful cutscenes.

OMG, go play Baten Kaitos now! The universe is pretty damn amazing and one of the more underrated rpgs. They were overlooked because gamecube sucked.

Baten Kaitos Origins is like my 2nd favourite game of all time. Just so fucking awesome. The first game is decent. The VA for the main characters in BKO is pretty much the best Ive heard in a game.

FFX is a repulsive turd, never played FFX-2

edit: which got me thinking, what are my top 5 games ever?

2. Baten Kaitos Origins
3. Symphony of the Night

cant think of what goes in slot 4 and 5. Help me out guys

both baten kaitos are averagish rpg,i liked the first because it was like "we have cloud land,where people live on cloud,then we have sweet land! then we have towerofdruaga land!" but the second recycled so much stuff it was pointless and boring

x-2 suffers from a similiar fate but at least the rest of baten kaitos origin is decent where x-2 has a horrible plot,a dumb job system and tons of pointless secret put in there just to entice you to buy the guide

so really just play the original of both and ignore the sequels

You couldnt be more wrong. BKO trounces the original in so many ways, yes its the same world but tons of new locations are explored.

Vagrant Story is probably number 4.

Dont know what number 5 is , I mean I like a lot of Xbox 360 games but only a couple have made me gone "whoa". These are: Mirrors Edge (much more fantastic in hindsight, than when I played it), Bionic Commando, BC Rearmed and Mass Effect 1 & 2, off the top of my head.

actualy i killed the holoholo bird on my first try which disappointed me a lot since everyone was like "OMG THE HOLOHOLO BIRD IS SO HARD!"

I think I died once or twice on him, but If you just wail on the baby birds with your best attacks the big bird went down easy. Guess all the people who said the bird is hard had a crappy deck or something

oh man, that fight sucked

and when you won, you had to do it again!

I lent my copy of BK to a friend and he gave up at that part haha. Hardest boss fight in the game.

Even though I was pretty "meh" on the first Baten Kaitos, Origins was just so utterly amazing that it even improved the first game. I liked FFX, but wasn't a fan of X2 at all... so definitely the BK series.

Too bad that Baten Kaitos DS rumor never panned out, maybe we'll get another one now that work on Xenoblade is done. But knowing Nintendo, Monolith will make another one and then they won't bother translating it. :'(

Slime got me the first one for EB Secret Santa a few years ago. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't get past the card-based system.

I ended up buying Origins out of habit when it was clearenced at Toys R Us.

I have only played FFX but it was pretty sweet finding all those Al Bhed primers and the capturing monsters for the Monster Arena was pretty cool. BK Origins looks sweet too, I dunno about X-2 I never thought about it before as I heard bad things about it but it's interesting to see some proponents of it here. Might take a look someday. I really should check out BK Origins though.

BKO is shit because they make you share a deck of cards instead of having separate ones for the characters. BTW

On the other hand you only needed 17-18 cards in that deck. The less you had, the greater the chance you dished out more damage.
