lowers jitter, but also delays response, sucks for anything twitchy

is mouse smoothing the same as mouse acceleration? because I like mouse acceleration and have a tiny amount set on my mouse.

Mouse smoothing makes it feel like you're dragging the cursor across the screen. It used to be important for old mice that used the metal ball for movement, but for optical mice it's a real pain.
