NYC-Bore: I shall be among you soon

So I'm moving to NYC from Utah in a month or two. I have a place to live lined up already, but I'm looking for a job (I'm a PHP/MySQL web developer guy).  I'm sure I can find something, but it'll be tricky finding something and interviewing while I'm still out west.

What's dress code and standard interview wear like back east? Should I wear a suit to the interview? Am I gonna need to stock up on shirts and ties for work, or is it gonna be more polos/khakis? Probably depends on where I end up, eh?

I'm moving in with my girlfriend, in her apartment in Washington Heights. I've visited a few times, and it's.... pretty different from everywhere I've lived, but hey, the rent is relatively cheap.

I'll probably make it out there sometime in September.  I was gonna base my move on when I had a solid job, but I'll probably just keep applying and then move out around mid-Sept whether I've got a job or not. I'll have a bit of a cushion to live on, so I'll be okay for a little while.

I fly out Friday after next

No job lined up yet, but I had a phone interview on Friday, and have had recruiters all over me. I think I should be able to find something pretty soon.
