No, me neither.

But I do like good art! And Valkyria had lots of it. It also had a 400 page artbook in Japan that would cost you like $80+ to import and be full of moon language.

Luckily for you, Udon is bringing it out in ENGLISH in Jan for $33 on Amazon. That's 400 pages of great art like this for $33.

I enjoyed it. I loved the mechanics of a semi-shooter game strategy RPG.

I havent put time into Valkyria but I hate art books because they are a waste of money and get zero use.

I've gotten a few artbooks that came with games or whatever, I usually just look through it once, put it away somewhere, and never look at it ever again. Although, I'm not the kind of person to go to art galleries either, so maybe I'm just not the target market.

who cares if other people look through it? part of the appeal for fans of the series is to see how the character designs came together through various stages of concept art, usually with commentary from the artists (like so). and then there's just a bunch of nice art to appreciate.

an art book and a making-of featurette are the only two things that i want out of limited editions. everything else is worthless junk. actually, a bonus soundtrack CD is good too, but i just download those anyway.

That was just one random example that I found off google. But it is interesting to see if one character looked completely different during the concept stages. There are usually more substantial comments, like what they were going for and why it didn't work, that type of thing.

The lack of trophies really is the worst thing about VC. Would be amazing if they started working on VC3 for PS3, then decided to go back and patch them into the old game while they were at it...

Loved the gameplay, the music, the graphics/art style. Heck, even the plot was good (anime-ish WW2, hey not bad).

I still haven't finished it, some of the level designs are just awful and the enemy AI is kinda dross. There seems to be lots of great stages in the game and a handful of really shitty ones and I keep getting stuck on those and only coming back to the game about eight months later.

Still, I like it a lot, I'd say its an almost great game that's weighed down by some occasional flaws.

Played it, beat it, loved it. Probably my favorite PS3 exclusive (honestly didn't like what I played of Demon's Souls at all).
