Why don't these fake commercial makers ever grasp the fact that a fucking commercial is not a minute+ long.

Apparently Pinball FX is delayed by two weeks. Game Feast is embarassing.

I thought the Game Room Packs are free, but purchasing individual games from within them costs points, right? It's another grey area where MS has ignored their own software architecture. It is probably not possible to track those purchases in line with the other Game Add-On items.

Game has always looked rad.  Challenging good platforming with tons of content like N+

Will get it after the "hold so pirates won't get it day 1" PC version finally comes out.

As much as I am not going to be purchasing this penis-stompingly hard game, I think this pricing model is great for XBLA. I see a lot of iPhone games move really well by offering an earlybird discount. It's got to be smarter than putting potential customers into a "wait and see" state by offering frequent and unannounced discount periods. I always feel bad when I see something for sale shortly after I've paid full price.

Super Meat Boy will also have some free DLC

Quote
The free downloadable chapter for the Xbox Live Arcade version of rock hard 2D platformer Super Meat Boy is a "f**k you" to the system of paying for DLC, the developer has said.

The Xbox-exclusive chapters, part of The Internets package, will be free to download because of what's called Title Managed Storage (TMS), a Microsoft feature that allows developers to add new chapters to games whenever they feel like it.

"In a world where it costs $2 to unlock content in a game that you've already purchased it is nice to have the power to totally say f**k you to that system and go our own way," said Team Meat on its site

"As we upload content there are no micro transactions to play new chapters and we can basically do whatever we want with these chapters and it costs you, our adoring fans, nothing. We love you."

Super Meat Boy launches on 20th October on XBLA. Team Meat – made up of developers Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes - is yet to announce a release date for the free DLC, but did share some details.

"Each internets chapter contains 20 levels and can be tailored to allow all characters to play them, or lock in a specific character allowing us to create levels that only certain characters can defeat using their special abilities."

Team Meat also explained the DLC's Xbox 360 exlcusivity.

"Before we all start to bitch and moan about this, know that in order for the game to come out on XBLA, we had to offer something exclusive and this was the best and coolest option for us," said the tiny studio.

"Also, quite frankly, Title Managed Storage on Xbox Live took all of the difficult parts of getting this system up and running out of my hands. It literally took me a week to implement the Internets Chapter fully, that's a huge deal for what it is."

So there you go.

Yeah, the Title Managed Storage stuff may be what allowed them to "end run" around the for-pay DLC model that Valve is fond of complaining about, but it's not like Microsoft said "WHAT? You're using Title Managed Storage to give away stuff for free? FORFEND! PRITHEE GIVE UP THIS MADNESS!" -- this is what TMS is for, and they're using it in accord with the design. It's just that it's not applicable to the kind of DLC Valve wants to offer. Or Epic. Or so many others, I'm guessing.

apparently because the temp drop to 800 is considered a deal on its own, it doesn't count towards the spend 2400, get 800 deal.  but I can't really find a reason to complain about that.

someone on gaf pointed out that the xbox deal says it "cannot be combined with any other offer" and technically the Meatboy sale is an offer.  I think this is all assumptions for now and it might turn out to be false.

Meat Boy looks interesting but I hate that whole "zany internetzzzz" style of humor that it seems to be infected with.  Almost puts me off entirely from buying the game.

Now that "Game Feast" is over we can now say that it had an even shittier line-up than all the Summers of Arcades. Can we? One great game. Just one

Is Shank worth getting? I played the demo last night, and it seemed smooth and fun for a brawler but maybe a bit mashy? It sure is pretty.

Well, poop on that, then.
1200 for Costume Quest
800 for RDR: Undead Nightmare

...it would have been an easy 440 for The Rocky Horror Picture Show Pack for Guitar Hero, except I own GH2, GH3, GH5, and Band Hero, but apparently this will only work with GH: Warriors of Rock. LAAAAAAME. Kotick's dense and unfathomable DLC fortress will remain unviolated by my points.

Will prolly scope some Rock Band tracks when I get home.
