Boise St would go 8-4 if they played in the SEC or Big Ten

Denard Robinson looked fucking amazing for Michigan. I remember going to a game last year (saw them beat down my school lol) and he was fast, but every time he touched the ball you knew he was running. The crowd seemed to look at him like a circus attraction. It was cool initially, then after a few plays it got boring seeing him do the same thing over and over.

This year he looks great. Solid passing, amazing running, and a born leader. Very surprising. Next weekend's game against ND should be the first real test though

ACC is doing great this week. Lost to dern near everybody.

I think UNC is going to try to regain some respectability for the conference by playing a local high school.

What media outlet are you watching? All I hear is "Boise State will not make the championship game" and "Boise State is not good enough and will never be with their current schedule strength."

At least since ESPN quit talking about a playoff as a favorable thing around the time they got the rights to every BCS bowl game.

Projected top 5 AP for tomorrow:

1. Oregon
2. Boise State
3. TCU
4. Oklahoma
5. Auburn

I'd also predict that Michigan State is number 6. All six will have first place votes, with the most going to Oregon and OU

As a Kentucky football fan (which is fruitless) I have decided that my second favorite college football team is Boise State.

First of all, all of the major powers are pretentious and they more than likely cheat. I don't think Boise is like that. Plus, they have the cool blue field and they legitimately deserve at least one year in the national championship game.

I've been following Boise throughout the early 2000s to now hoping that they would crack the BCS games. They have, with success. Now it's time for the final step. Either their's or TCU's presence in the big game will shut everyone up. If the teams lose, ESPN will have all 100 college football analysists say "oh, well this proves that Boise isn't good enough to hang with the big boys."

But if they win the national championship...., then boys, we have us a fucking shitstorm and possibly the strongest argument to switch to a playoff immediately.

More like they don't have the money to schedule great teams. No one notable wants to travel to Boise to play them and Boise doesn't get the deal a FCS or Non AQ team usually gets in terms of a payout for an away game because the bigger teams won't pay to potentially get their asses beat.

nope, but they had a chance a few months ago, and still do. Nebraska is joining next year, and adding Boise would be a nice fit. Also, Nebraska offered Boise a scheduling contract and they refused.

The program is run with the intent of looking like an underdog against a couple sup par ranked teams as they beat weaker competition. It's true some BCS teams refuse to play them, but that doesn't excuse Boise's laughably weak schedule.

What? Boise would never get a Big 10 invite. I don't think the TV viewership in Idaho would be enough for the Big 10 let alone their academic requirement.

Boise would definitely jump on a Big 10 invite. They would have no reason not to. Just being in a BCS conference garners more money from bowl payouts than Boise probably gets.

Ditto. Link me the article that gave them a shot. The conferences look at television market. TCU would have a much better chance to join a large conference (rumored they are thinking about joining the Big East) than Boise due to the fact that they would garner no TV ratings.

Again, there's not one conference that wants some team to beat all of their high viewership market teams and drive down their ratings.

Boise does the best it can to get people to play them, but they are fucked from square one. No, what Boise will do is continue to beat the shit out of the WAC (and Mountain West next year) and throw gasoline on the playoff argument. Even ESPN getting the BCS hasn't stopped their analysts from talking about a playoff.

I'm still not seeing how December Madness wouldn't be an awesome end to the season. Fuck this BCS shit. Let the fucking teams play. The argument about the BCS is that it makes the regular season mean more. That may be true, but if you are a fucking football team and you win every fucking game in the regular season, your regular season didn't really mean fucking much if you don't get to play for the national championship.

Wisconsin beat Indiana 83-20.

They scored every time they touched the ball. No punts, no turnovers, no taking knees, no turning the ball over on downs.

Michigan at 7 wins. Enough to save Rich Rod's job? After watching Wisconsin destroy Indiana it's pretty clear any chances of an upset next week are out of the window. And OSU will beat them the week after that most likely. So 7-5 for the season, with a meh bowl game in the future.

Given Les Miles' revival this season, I doubt he'd leave for Michigan. Jim Harbaugh is doing very well at Stanford, I see no reason why he'd leave either. One of them will probably get the job one day, I just don't think it'll be next year. With that in mind I wouldn't fire Rich Rod

On the one hand, I'm glad a team that doesn't play a real schedule doesn't have a chance to win the national title.*

On the other hand, it would probably take such a team playing for the title to actually cause change in the BCS system.

*I should say, I'm in favor of such a team having a chance, but not not an automatic entry into the championship game.

The problem with Boise is that they would lose 1-2 games a year in any good conference. I'm more annoying by sports writers who write articles about the big bad BCS not allowing Cinderella to the ball than sports writers defending the (indefensible) BCS system.

I hate quoting anyone from OSU but

Quote
"Well, I don't know enough about the X's and O's of college football," said Gee, formerly the president at West Virginia, Colorado, Brown and Vanderbilt universities. "I do know, having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it's like murderer's row every week for these schools. We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day.

"So I think until a university runs through that gantlet that there's some reason to believe that they not be the best teams to [be] in the big ballgame."
