Okay, so I just got to Germany about two weeks ago. I'm just starting to get to know the people I work with, and getting along fine. One of my co-workers just recently got bad news from home, and needs someone to ride with him up to Frankfurt airport so that someone can drive his car back. He asked me, and so I said 'yes'. He's also offered to lend me his car for the entire week he's gone, and all I have to do is pay the outrageous gas prices.
Problem: his car is a manual and I do not drive manual. I had a ten minute class about a week ago, when another co-worker was showing me his car. That was driving in circles with an instructor handy and in a deserted parking lot. This will be one hour and a half on the autobahn...
Should I back out? Are there any tips other manual drivers can give me? Like when to press down on the clutch when braking or shifting or whatnot?
