:drudge AMERICA AT RISK: THE WAR WITH NO NAME :drudge

Quote
America At Risk, hosted by Newt and Callista Gingrich, vividly demonstrates the dangers facing America, one decade after the attacks on 9/11. Today, Washington refuses to tell the truth about the war we are fighting. According to experts, we are at war with radical Islamists - and it is a war we are losing. By Citizens United Productions.

I've decided to watch the entire Citizens United Productions library in honor of 9/11.  First up, Ronald Reagan: Rendevous with Destiny.  Might as well enjoy my freedom to procrastinate before the Islamo-fascists nuke it out of me.

I'd never seen his wife before.  Callista Gingrich is like a ham-handed spoof of Cindy McCain.

While this thread is awesome, I really feel like Chipopo missed a golden opportunity with the thread title; I mean, "America at Risk: A Newt Gingrich Joint" just seems too awesome, no?

Callista Gingrich is one spooky looking corpse of a Stepford wife.  Newt needs to turn that one in and get one of those robo-Palin models.

Pretty bummed my dad went full distinguished mentally-challenged fellow today, expressing his disapproval of the ground zero mosque which according to him was being build right on the exact spot of the attack. Some choice quotes:

"ha, a community center? you really think jews will be allowed in?"
"no not all Muslims are terrorists, but lots of them cheered on 911 so don't tell me only 19 attacked us"
"if it's gonna be a community center, how come they won't serve pork?" :smug

I love this quote.  Makes it sound like PD's dad believes that the primary function of a community center is to serve copious amounts of delicious pork to said community.  An idea I can fully get behind.

More intellectualosity:

Gingrich: Obama’s ‘Kenyan, anti-colonial’ worldview

September 11, 2010 10:52 PM By Robert Costa
Citing a recent Forbes article by Dinesh D’Souza, former House speaker Newt Gingrich tells National Review Online that President Obama may follow a “Kenyan, anti-colonial” worldview.

Gingrich says that D’Souza has made a “stunning insight” into Obama’s behavior — the “most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama.”

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

“This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president,” Gingrich tells us.

“I think he worked very hard at being a person who is normal, reasonable, moderate, bipartisan, transparent, accommodating — none of which was true,” Gingrich continues. “In the Alinksy tradition, he was being the person he needed to be in order to achieve the position he needed to achieve . . . He was authentically dishonest.”

“[Obama] is in the great tradition of Edison, Ford, the Wright Brothers, Bill Gates — he saw his opportunity and he took it,” Gingrich says. Will Gingrich take it back in 2012? “The American people may take it back, in which case I may or may not be the recipient of that, but I have zero doubt that the American people will take it back. Unlike Ford, the Wright Brothers, et cetera, this guy’s invention did not work.”

“I think Obama gets up every morning with a worldview that is fundamentally wrong about reality,” Gingrich says. “If you look at the continuous denial of reality, there has got to be a point where someone stands up and says that this is just factually insane.”

Gingrich spoke with NRO after the premiere of his new film, America at Risk.

this is kind of odd, because i've now seen a second mention of Obama as "anti-colonial"

Quote
Colonialism today is a dead issue. No one cares about it except the man in the White House. He is the last anticolonial. Emerging market economies such as China, India, Chile and Indonesia have solved the problem of backwardness; they are exploiting their labor advantage and growing much faster than the U.S. If America is going to remain on top, we have to compete in an increasingly tough environment.

But instead of readying us for the challenge, our President is trapped in his father's time machine. Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation's agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son. The son makes it happen, but he candidly admits he is only living out his father's dream. The invisible father provides the inspiration, and the son dutifully gets the job done. America today is governed by a ghost.

Dinesh D'Souza, the president of the King's College in New York City, is the author of the forthcoming book The Roots of Obama's Rage (Regnery Publishing).

The worst people to argue with are the ones who worry about America "staying on top."  On top of what exactly?  There's so much shit wrong with us I don't give a fuck.  Expanding our reach in the Middle East has done wonders for our government and people, right???

No duh we're fucking losing. You don't destroy a bunch of scrappy dudes with AK and Kitchen Sink Bombs by using billion dollar warheads.

If you're an Afghani kid right now or an Iraqi kid, what do you know about America? They came and DECIMATED your way of life, killed your friends and family and then fucking left. So now you're 15 and broke and have no future. Some terror dudes roll up and give you a hot meal and teach you how to read and show you how to fight back against those filthy Capitalist Christian pigs who bombed your house and ruined your life.

It's like kids in the ghetto- We built a fuckign system that only rewards them for doing the thing we don't want them to do. It's sick and sad and weird. I really feel like America is done. Not like it'll dissolve, but it's just being eaten on all side.

Oh, I guess that makes sense in an amazingly stupid way. I assumed he wasn't referring to the same sort of anticolonial "ambitions" that drew Gandhi so much praise. Or maybe he was.
