The Cruncheons Episode 01: Stardock, Gamers Bill of Rights, Listener Requests

Segment One: Stardock and the Gamers Bitmap of Rights

Doug, Robert, and Kevin take on the recent Stardock "controversy" and do some editing to the Gamers Bill of Rights.

here is the deal:

i have sent three support requests to libsyn to fix our borecast itunes issues, and none of them have been answered even though the show went up on the 22nd of August

i don't know how to fix it myself, and as far as i know itunes won't let you submit a new podcast to their store under the exact same name as an existing one

so basically the borecast is frozen at episode 49 forever as far as itunes goes, and that's where we get 75% of our downloads from, so 75% of our listener base might have missed episode 50

we decided to take the opportunity to start fresh with a new show, which is pretty much the same show with some upcoming minor changes and something up there every week

we debated using Borecast in the new show name, but decided it would be too confusing for new listeners searching around, so we thought we'd just let it stand on its own

we will still reference it in the show and in posts so it's not like we are disowning it, i just got sick of fucking around with libsyn and didn't have much in the way of other choices

Well, you should give us another shot, as this is/will not be a typical episode

We didn't want the first episode to be time-dependent, as we knew it would take a while to set everything up and didn't want it to be outdated when released (we recorded this on Labor Day)

we also had an obligation to listeners of The Borecast to cover their requests (which we wanted to do on Borecast Episode 51)

next week will be the first installment of Cruncheon This! which will be quick "in-between" episodes of around 30 minutes, alternating with the longer full shows (this will be explained more fully in the show itself)

After that Cruncheons Episode 2 is our big Fall Games Wishlist show, and a lot of catching up on what we've been playing over the past month

Finally got around to listening to it.

I agree with the Gamers Bill of Rights for the most part but it is wishy washy. One thing I liked best was the playing things offline feature. I bought a few XBLA games and without an internet connection, all I can do is play them in demo form. It was like pissing away $60 in various games.
