Hopefully more than the first series.

I sure hope they don't do the flashback arc again.  Waste of eps when the other series covers that portion fine.

Would be nice if it picked up afterwards and did all the way through Griffith vs. the giant tree. (aka, everything besides this current pirate/cove arc).  Would need about 100eps probably to cover that much though.

Hasn't the manga been running for like 10-20 years?  A weekly anime would be awesome.

I bet it will be an OVA series that takes even longer to come out than the manga.

I'd take an OVA series. It would at least have a decent budget and there'd be no worry of toned-down violence.

They can do it like Hellsing OAV.  1ep per year = covers 1 volume of manga.

Will finish in 30 years!

spoiler (click to show/hide)
or get cancelled like Hellsing :(

The manga starts off AFTER the band of hawk aftermath. The Band of Hawk tale was a FLASHBACK in the manga.

START FROM BEGINNING OF THE SERIES

honestly the only story they could do from there is the Count since the other story was already done in the "first episode" of the anime series.

seems like a waste but at least it could introduce puck.

well, this is pretty terriffic news to wake up to.

As long as they keep the composer/ultra violence from the original series I don't see how this could be remotely bad.

The problem is, the animation will be just as cheap this time around.  There's no way this is getting an even moderate budget, especially if it's longer than 26 eps.  Too niche and unprofitable.  There's also a good chance that if they start at the beginning and do the whole flashback arc again, the anime will get canned before they get past that and we'll end up with two anime covering the flashback and nothing beyond which would be a waste.  Might as well start after so we get at least 1 new arc.

It's cool that we'll get animated versions of somethign, but I'd go in with ultra low expectations for the quality of the anime.

stolen from GAF

https://twitter.com/LawofGreen/status/25774166931 Seems like 'Berserk' is Studio 4°C and full CG anime (Kitakubo's twitter).

Studio 4c? interesting and i think its the same team doing the anime stuff for Catherine.

We'll see if true when more info comes out?

CG? i guess it means in 2d being done on a computer like game CGs.

Actually going by those picks I think they actually do mean CG = 3d.  Looks like cell-shaded anime.

Yeah, the biggest drawback to the CG-cell style seems to be that there's no brushy variation in line width. Well, no, usually the biggest problem is the grotesque lack of anything soulful about the movement or facial expression. Next would be the line quality.
