Everything's good. Graphics are comparable to the PC version, but at least with this you have cheevos, controls that actually make sense, and a total lack of all the glitches in the PC version.

Got bored, so I bought this. Never played BGE before now.

Just killed the first boss and I'm liking it so far. It's a little janky: the camera is awful, the combat kinda sucks, the animation is kinda bad and the voice acting isn't too great, but it's still fun. The story and characters seem a little more cartoony than I was expecting too.

All I remember about BG&E is shitty stealth and even more crappy vehicle sections and an awful awful embarrassing story involving talking animals

i thought prince of persia: sands of time steamrolled this fucking game when it came out

Beyond Good and Evil is a fine game. Especially for its era. The stealth is a bit over-done but that was the fad back then. Trying to add stealth in everywhere in every single game. Nearly every game from the past is "over-rated" due to nostalgia love and the fact that any game that didn't get to continue as a series is lamented as a lost gem whether it was or wasn't. (See the Shenmue dicksucking that has gone on since that series was stopped). In 6 or 7 years people will be saying the same thing about Mirror's Edge since that series is most likely going to die too. There are literally hundreds maybe thousands of great games that got stopped in my life time at one game and didn't get a shit-ton of sequels or start a franchise. BG&E is no better or worse than any of those. It happens. Just play the game and leave all that nerd talk over at GAF.

BG&E is one of those games where I liked it a lot but didn't think it warranted a sequel.

I downloaded the demo, but haven't committed to the full purchase yet. I'm anxious to see what they've done, but feel like this will have at least one discount sale before I'm actually able to sit down and play it. That makes me a bad Michel Ancel fan... $:-\$

FYI, I read on x360a and TA that if you play the trial and get on the boat, the achievement for doing that won't unlock once you buy the full game. I think there's a workaround for it though, not sure.

i beat the game over the weekend. took about 6 hours. game was shorter than i remebered

Just finished this, got my 200/200. It's a good game, but it's not particularly great. Last boss fight was horrible, combat in general is horrible, stealth sections weren't bad since it meant I could bypass combat, I liked the racing & all of the side missions, the OST is good, story & characters were meh, good exploration, and this game has THE WORST CAMERA I have seen in over a decade.

Still, I'd be interested in a sequel. If they fixed all of the problems with this game and added more content, it could be really great. Too bad Michel Ancel does nothing but make trailers for games that never come out these days.
