I was interested in getting one for a mobile computer of some kind but they're really limited. The iOS platform is still in its infancy. I think they're really neat tho and the idea of an iPad + keyboard dock is very alluring to me.

This is cool, but be warned it's a bit laggy. You definitely won't be watching movies and stuff on that 2nd screen. Perfect for stuff like all your Photoshop tools though.

Flipboard and Pulse are my new favorite apps - both are so slick it almost hurts.

RSS is only one of the feedtypes it pulls in. I was a major NewsRack user before those two came along, but I have pretty much stopped using it now. The problem with those things is that I end up with way too many feeds and way too many unread items, so the initial load-in takes forever. Pulse limits you to 10 feeds per page so it's way more responsive. You can of course have lots of different pages for when you have more time. And even if it was JUST flashy, it's a great showcase app...for $2.

Reeder on iPad is incredibly fast. I have about 100+ feeds and it syncs them all in the background. I never have to wait before starting to read anything, it'll sync images in the background pretty fast too.

Yeah, I don't think tablets will really replace anything until we see color e-Ink screens with decent battery life. Then all paper products (newspapers, books, etc.) will be totally fucked - more than they are now.

My family has a digital subscription to our staple newspaper. Every morning I download the newspaper of that day onto my iPod touch with their iOS app. I read it on the train. No hassle at all.
