OMG COMPUTAR AM HERE IS IS SO EXCITED

Everything else (case, win7) showed up today, so I'm gonna put it together later tonight or maybe even tomorrow.

Everything seems to be working just fine.  Waiting for the drivers and shit for the video card to finish downloading presently, but everything seems fuck awesome.

I'm sure everything is fine and this is more a byproduct of me being as techno savvy as your average actual luddite, but I'm having issues getting the thing to recognize the video card.  I'm pretty sure I've downloaded the appropriate driver, but I'm not sure what the deal is.  Another problem is that I constructed this thing at work last night with a friend's help and didn't get done until like midnight, then immediately had to turn around and work in the morning so I've actually spent like zero f'n time with it, which is kind of frustrating.  It's sitting in the back room at work right now because, you guessed it, gotta work tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow night I should have more time to figure out what the deal is.

I know this might sound like an insulting question, but are you sure your display is plugged into your video card and not the motherboard? Also Eel's comment is also valid, sometimes onboard graphics tend to fuck with dedicated GPUs, so see if there's an option to disable it in the BIOS or some such.

Yeah, like I said I haven't fucked around with it like at all mainly because I've been working.  I was kind of like a kid at crimmus with the thing last night and was all LET'S BUILD THIS FUCKER YAY! even though I had to work so damn much.

startselect- don't worry, i'm not easily insulted especially when it comes to this shit which i know so little about.  yes, it's plugged into the video card.

Alright, just making sure. Sometimes it pays to ask the obvious questions.

I had to troubleshoot a build a couple of years ago for hours only to realize that I had only plugged in one power connector to the video card, instead of the 2 that were required.   :-\

you also might need to update your motherboard's bios, check the manufacturer's website for the latest

should be easy, updating mine was as simple as clicking a .bat and then rebooting

aaaaand the last issue might be that the power supply lacks the wattage to support the card, although that seems unlikely

your power supply is fine, btw, unless it is busted (which i do not think is the case)

on 600w you could run 2 gts 450s

Can you tell me what your Windows Experience Score is?  I am thinking about going to micro center to snag one of these for my kids to share so they will stay away from my computer.

WEI doesn't matter much, it goes with whatever it determines is the lowest scoring component and makes that your overall score

for instance, mine only tops out at 5.9 because that's what it rated my HDD at, when everything else is in the mid-7's

I meant the sub scores as well....my hard drive drags down the overall score on mine as well. I just don't have any other reference for AMD processors.
