Trust me: I'm an expert at eating crackers and acting like I own the place.

If you want to get a feel for what it's like, just download the free-to-play League of Legends. It was done by some of the same people that made DOTA.
What the fuck is DOTA? Seriously, I read through that GAF thread and the press release and they only ever refer to it as DOTA. I have no idea what DOTA stands for.

Guinsoo and Pendragon worked on earlier versions of DotA, but Icefrog (who is working on DOTA2) is the guy who pretty much made the game into what it is today.

It is a RTS/RPG/tower defense hybrid. The map has three lanes, each with three towers per lane that guard a shrine that is must be destroyed. Each side has 5 players and over 100 characters to choose from. You start each game at level 1 and have a small pool of gold. You level up and earn gold by killing waves of creeps that spawn into each lane and by killing NPCs. You are trying to get more powerful than your opponent so you can destroy the shrine before him.
I never played LoL, but I enjoyed RoFL and LMAO.
