Because of the standard/premium difference, there really needs to be a rule that shots of standard cars are not allowed in this comparison thread. We know the standard cars look like PS2 because they are ps2 models/textures.

The damage control in that thread and this one are too funny, goddamn. The six-year wait was worth it.

EDIT: Completely ignoring the PS2 car models, the tracks look horrendous. And that wouldn't be a big deal in a racing game except driving in GT feels like you're moving at 15mph, so you get to see every awful texture in beautiful detail.

Only 50 cars from GT PSP for Arcade use, because there's only 50 slots.

Oh and the cars you import are only standard. You have to earn the premium cars.

If this is what the GT4 tracks look like after being copy/pasted straight into GT5, then I wish they ported them all.  GT4 had a lot of great tracks.

for once i agree but i think they should let Polyphony put out whatever shit fest they have for thier dumb as fuck fanboys to buy and jizz over without ANY knowledge before they finally do the right thing and take Kaz and his team aside and put bullets into them.

XX years too late, but hey... GT5 ... TOMBSTONE on a never evolving series. Mismanagement is a crime that SHOULD be punished by death and when you have taken a games series from HERO to ZERO? Well... you pay the cost...

What a weird comment.

In-game, clear day shots of this game are so-so looking.  Night and rain shots look really nice.

Entire game should be about night racing.  Instead of boring driving around a fancy circle on a daihatsu hijet for five hours, you drive around on highways with your custom tuned car looking for other people to race.  When you find another racer, you flash your headlights and just race.  Why haven't they made a game like that?

4/5

If you plan to play it without installing, read this

Quote
When Gran Turismo 5  starts, it asks if you want to install 6,92 gigabytes on your hard drive or try your luck without installing it. Stupidly, I started my career as GT5-driver without going through the installation, which I paid dearly for during the following five hours. What happens if you don't install the full game, which takes about 55 minutes to do, the game takes it upon itself to install small pieces at a time while you're playing. Every track can take several minutes to load and it becomes a true pain to go through the career mode. With that said, it should be noted that the loading times don't become that much shorter even after you've gone through the installation. Of course the gaming experience becomes a lot smoother, but the game still loads a bit too much despite the massive amount of data on the hard drive.

If any site would've been willing to whip out its cock out for GT5 I would've bet on IGN. All things considering, that's a low score from the home of the 10.0.

I was going to make this comparison earlier, but I wanted to wait for reviews. Seriously, the only difference is the fans for this game are in some kind of super-delusional denial about it. Are there people in the GAF thread actually pissed that GT5 got an 8? smh
