341 minutes is nothing compared to how long it takes menus to load.

True. But still, you must want to actually play the game if you bought it. Also, that progress bar is fucked, usually takes a quarter of the time it specifies at the beginning.

I got the SE for $28. Really just want to drive the Top Gear track.

Complete list of GT-5 Spec II changes and updates

2. User control of the weather change feature.
3. Added a setting sheet feature allowing you to save multiple car settings...
4. Spec 2.0 Opening movie
5. Improved UI response and usability
6. Replay front forward/rewind
7. Mid-race save feature for endurance races.
8. Expanded online lounge features (Narrowing down car types, shuffle races)...
9. Expansion of the B-Spec remote race you can play from GT.com (a graph display now shows changes in race rankings.)
10. Expanded Photo travel features / You can now take photo’s of cars together with your avatar...
11. Added a “NASCAR Pit Scene” stage to Photo Travel
12. Added eleven 2011 model NASCAR cars...
13. Added the Nissan GT-R N24 Shulze Motor Sport
14. Improved physics and AI...
15. Support for the Logitec G25/G27 Steering wheel.

A year ago I said "I'm not playing this game.  Too many issues.  Will play it in a year after they've potentially patched everything I dislike"

Now a year later and they've actually addressed all of my complaints SAVE ONE (being able to go directly into photomode from pause menu like every other racer).

Faster UI - check
ABILITY TO FAST FORWARD AND REWIND IN REPLAYS FOR PHOTO MODE - CHECK (most insane omission ever and making photomode worthless)
Mid-race save for endurance races - check

Plus selectable weather and interiors for all cars is nice too.

Time to finally enjoy this game!  Good timing as I'm just finishing off NFS HP and need a new racer.

The Worst Poster Ever more like The Worst Poster Ever  :lol

Meanwhile Turn 10 put out a new game in 2 years.

Eh, tbh the bi-yearly updates to Forza is one reason I'm not really into the series.  If I'm not playing it day 1, it's like "why bother playing this version of Forza when it'll just be replaced by a better one around the corner".  Especially since the new one will have the same tracks, cars, races but with even more.  Feels more like a fighting game update.  SF4 -> SSF4.  Then a fully fleshed out sequel.

The only way I'd like bi-yearly racers are if the content was 80-100% unique to each one, which is how arcade racers tend to be.  Sims have a loooot of re-use so I can only play them every few years when there are nice visual/gameplay upgrades.

xbox fanboys are embarrasing. it's ok to judge GT5 off of screenshots but if you judge Forshit off of a screenshot it's wrong  :lol :lol :lol

Installed all 10 updates.

-Menus and loading is definitely quicker.
-Menus are still confusing as FUCK.  I spent 15 mins and still never found out how to turn 3d on/off or find ANY video options whatsoever
-So the add what I wanted, Fast Forward and Rewind during replays so I can get good photo shoots now like any other racer.  OH WAIT, IT'S NOT REAL FF/RW.  Instead it just has bookmarks every 30 seconds of the race or so.  So yeah, those 1-2 second little adjustments you need to do, to get the perfect shot?  Still impossible.  Will never take photos in the game.  Bleh.  Gotta wait for GT6!   :-\
-Also maaaan, this the first time playing it at 1080p and the tearing is soooo bad.  Going to change it to 720p after I figure out how to do 3d and try that at least once.

Figured out how to get to 3d.  Looks pretty bad as expected due to the IQ and just racing games not being great showcases for 3d imo (unless they are Wipeout).

The racing in this game is still really good, but just so many stupid niggles.  Ugh.  Will change it to 720p and maybe get some racing in this week.
