 :hyper Finally going today!!! :hyper

The wife and I are taking the kiddo with us.  I don't know how he'll do with 2.5 hours of movie like that, but I'll be sure to slip some whiskey in his sippy cup before going in!

Deathly Hallow Part 1 was decent, better than a lot of movies I've seen from this year, but hardly anything happens.

The best parts where the Ministry of Magic and the cartoon.

I liked it a lot.  I've always wanted them to spend more time on each one.  It always feels like a little bit of shitty exposition and a really short battle scene.  I loved that there was so much exposition into the world in this one.  It felt like a more fleshed out world because they were taking time with getting me into the atmosphere and setting.

At one point, Hermoine tells Harry the legend of the Deathly Hallows. The cartoon shows the legend visually, with Hermoine providing the narration.

Due to the bedbug epidemic in NYC, I'm probably not gonna see this in theaters.  Sucks, too, because I was really hyped, having watched the first 6 movies for the first time just a week and a half ago.

What's up with this bedbug epidemic?

I don't get the reviews that said the ending was abrupt.  They ended it like Empire Strikes Back.

People are saying the ending is abrupt? It's a two-parter, they're not going to resolve all the issues and then have part two try to build everything back up again.

There are reviews complaining about it and when I saw it some people yelled "What the fuck?" when the credits started.

Why would people be angry at the end of part one of a two part film? Unless the movie sucks. I haven't watched the new Harry Potter, so I won't judge yet.

saw this, it was slow and boring, they shoulda just made one movie

PROS
- There's a really cool cartoon in the middle of it for no reason
- One of the female characters gets naked!
- Everyone at the Ministry of Magic dresses like a pimp
- A lot of annoying characters die

CONS
- There's no plot and nothing happens
- David Radcliffe takes off his shirt like he's in a Twilight movie
- It's 2.5 hours long but it feels much longer
- Some good characters die, too

Sounds like a perfect summary of the book. There's a plodding middle that is ever so boring.

Saw it on Sunday.  Loved it.

I thought they handled that boring section quite well.  Rowling knew that section would be "boring" and that's how she intended it.  She wanted her readers to get that anxious feeling.  The half naked scene was done well, and I'm glad that I finally figured out how it fit in.  It was like they were channeling Twilight and Galadriel from LOTR.

The movie ended right where it should have.  It ended on a climax that will keep the viewers in anticipation until the next one.

Movie should've be called Harry Potter Camping.

*wind blows by*

Boring movie....the highlight was a cartoon sequence that looked straight out of some videogame.
