I dunno, for the last couple of decades that timeline looks like military posturing and minor skirmishes in disputed waters or on foreign territory. This is a shelling of South Korean territory.

My wife said there was a proclamation this morning by China that N. Korea is "only retaliating" -- so they're already stepping up to say they're backing N. Korea. This could get ugly fast. Though it seems like anyone could step up and show China a timeline of events and ask them if they can do the math.

Exchange today, man. I thought the won was going to take a total nosedive as it did after the Cheonan sinking, but it bounced back a little since the incident and I exchanged yesterday with it trading at 1150 to the dollar. This still isn't a bad rate now and if there is another attack it could get MUCH worse.
