Pretty good year: fantastic year for electro, even better for rnb and soul, as we saw a revival of actually good soul music which is great because it was my favorite genre growing up. Personally the only thing missing from this year for me, music wise, is some good new jazz, funk and reggae but as usual, due to its sheer diversity electro managed to fill that niche. Otherwise, this year covered almost all the bases for me.

A bit too often it sounds like James Murphy self-parody, but otherwise it's a nice summarization of his career as LCD Soundsystem. It took some warming up to, but I like it a lot.

Swim is really good, but after hearing them live, the album seems like sort of a disappointment. That live drumming is greatly missed.

PERIOD.

Although I'm listening to the new Kanye and it's pretty damn good too.

I still really like False Priest by Of Montreal but I don't think it's my favorite of the year at this point. Definitely going to grab most of these albums. I've listened to most of the albums but haven't downloaded them.

Agree with the Janelle Monae for sure.

Can't really think of any at the moment... Even the Tensnake In The House mixcomp I was looking forward to... the second CD kinda sucks (especially compared to the amazing first CD). Aeroplane album was disappointing too...
