It was very active and very promising initially, and I thought it would last that way, but it didn't. The "regulars" of the new forum felt that the community was their fucking playground and they could openly and collectively gang-rape anyone that challenged their authority. New members were simply too hesitant to involve themselves in the community, much less post new threads, and I witnessed the community shrinking every year - even the founding members were getting bored because of the lack of new discussion and new blood (ironic, since they took such pleasure deriding them whenever they stuck their heads out).

It got to the point where the forum experienced only 2-3 posts a day. I tried to jump start the place by remodeling the forum's membership policy, but by then it was too late. I simply didn't have the energy nor the time to start from scratch, and it's much harder to start a community from the ground up.

Unfortunately, those signs leading to the collapse of my old board seem prevalent here. Yeah, some of the members will stick around, defend the place, and say they'll stick around and do X-Y-Z to guarantee it lives on, but it's all BS. These members are like sluts: they'll say they love you and whisper sweet nothings into your ear, only to have their cunts stuffed hours later when you're not around by the stud next door with the horse cock.

I suspect all of this will be ignored or find itself the recipient of a classic Bore attack, but I couldn't care less. I consider this post to be my most meaningful and genuine contribution to the community and its leaders, and I really don't care how it'll be received.

Again an internet forum shouldn't coddle opinions and treat everyone like special snowflakes.

If you like a Wii game, give the reasons why you like it. Don't just post a twee post about how whimsical the latest Kirby game is and expect not to get some negative responses. I think the board will at least leave you alone if you objectively explain why you like a Nintendo game. Nostalgia, twee feelings, blind brand name worship, and beta male mewling will just get you ridiculed.

If people don't like the game, it isn't like GAF where you are a brand warrior who must convince people otherwise. It's their opinion. The biggest beef I have with the gaming side at GAF: people feel the need to feel attached to name brands. I feel it is the other way around: companies need to prove themselves to me why I should invest money in their product.

Also LOL at suggesting Anihawk. He is one of the biggest reasons I stopped participating in the gaming side of GAF. grandjedi6 would be a good guy but I imagine someone at this point invited him over here. Andrex is a babe in the woods and a manchild in the making. When the cold hard hand of reality slaps him across the face in a few more years, I fully expect him to have a mental breakdown or devolve into furrydom.
