I hate all the other ninthings for some reason. At least the ones here.  Between brandnew, oblivion, magus, and santa_c... yuck. Concern trolls and zelda fetishists.

You can't really call yourself a ninfag without buying excitebots anyway.  And you \play fucking goldeneye with a classicon, wtf is wrong with you brandnew.

That thing you use to play goldeneye with. If you were a true blue ninfag, you would have embraced Iwata's vision of a waggle fps future. Get with the fucking program.

I actually signed up on an Xbox forum and pretended to be a brain-dead Xbox supporter just to make the other Xbox supporters look worse by association.

But Nintendo is pretty much dead to me now. Other M was the nail in the coffin. Bury that sucker and throw up a headstone, maybe put a few roses on it this Christmas when I play a little DKCR and then forget all about it while I go back to making out with hot new girlfriend who drives a convertible.

Sonic Colors is exclusive to wii. So as I said, you can't be a true ninfag without automatically giving it the benefit of the doubt based on that fact alone.

I was a Wii only owner for eight months (December 2007 - July 2008)

It wasn't because I enjoyed it so much I could do without a 360.  I just didn't feel like playing much games back then and would find a release every 2-3 months that I'd like to play.  The shameful part was being at midnight launches for Smash Brothers Brawl and Mario Kart Wii :-\

I'll get another Wii when the price drops to $150 or cheaper.  I want to play Galaxy again, Galaxy 2, Sin and Punishment 2, etc.

I just feel sorry for hardcore Wiifags who will get abandoned by Nintendo once the 3DS is released.  Nintendo is terrible about seeing their consoles through to the end.  They just seem to produce games for the first 3 years and then jump ship to the next console or handheld.  The 3DS sounds interesting but the insane hype is steering me away from the purchase.  I'll wait and hear from reputable forum members before putting down $350 for a 3DS and a game.  At those prices, it needs to be cock rockingly awesome, not some new gimmick that will get tiring after a few hours of playtime.

I always manage to pick up and play the big Nintendo "core" titles, and love my DS, but over the past year or so I think the PSP has superseded the DS as my favorite system. Not really a "fanboy" anymore since SEGA is out of the console business.

Gamecube definitely has the weaker versions of most core Nintendo franchises (I hated Sunshine and Wind Waker and the Metroid Prime series), but has Melee and some awesome 3rd party RPGs. :bow Baten Kaitos Origins :bow2

Brandnew is totally not a Nintendo fan.  I'd still say he deserves an E for effort.

People who say wii/psp/etc has no games don't really remember the gamecube droughts.  I think there was one quarter where the biggest release was ribbit king.  I'm actually behind on Wii purchases at the moment.

Gamecube had no exclusives, but it still got games because of the PS2 and multiplatform games.  The same friends that stuck with the gamecube for the entire generation dumped the Wii quickly because there was nothing to play on it; they graduated to the 360 or PS3.  Wii barely gets any games period, and the PSP gets more, just at a much smaller scale and budget than it used to.  It lacks the 3D console quality games it used to get a lot of, at least at any sort of frequency.

also, excitebots sucks.  excite truck is really fun.  and I play goldeneye with the pointer controls.  and excitebots sucks.

Earlier in the year I bought Endless Ocean 2. I had Sin and Punishment 2 and Monster Hunter 3 in reserve, but around that time I was unemployed and had to wait until the fall when I  was employed again.   Monster Hunter 3 is a maybe at this point, although I was able to pick up sin and punishment for cheap.  I still want this year's pro evolution soccer, donkey kong country returns, and nba jam. After buying goldeneye and sonic colors I'm kind of low on funds due in part to paying off a credit card.  I think the trackmania game got pushed back to february though, so that's a relief.  All the civilization talk reminded me I never got around to Dawn of Discovery either.

Luckily, wii game prices drop fast.

Gamecube is much better than Wii.  While the core franchises were the weakest in their GC iterations, it still had a lot of good PS2 ports, a lot of times with improvements.  Meanwhile, the Wii has games that would have been considered shovelware on the PS2.  It's a step forward and two steps back with the Wii.

The Wii's greatest strengths are Mario Galaxy and Mario Galaxy 2.  Other than that, it is a forgettable platform that sold a shitload because it was the hot new thing for soccer moms.  Probably the worst lineup of games for a dominating console of the past several generations.

People who say wii/psp/etc has no games don't really remember the gamecube droughts.  I think there was one quarter where the biggest release was ribbit king.  I'm actually behind on Wii purchases at the moment.

I remember when people thought Eternal Darkness was a game worth owning.  In reality, it is a C grade (at best) title released in probably one of the worst droughts of the Gamecube.  If it was on PS2, it probably would have sold a few thousand copies at most.

I'm currently still a ninfag, I guess.

I own 50+ retail Wii games and I've enjoyed pretty much all of them. Pretty sizable backlog, too. While I stopped spending money on Wiiware because of the hassle I have left quite a bit of money there. Ironically it's also the platform where I've spent the most on DLC (Curse you, Square Enix). While I still play Wii games I've pretty much relegated this system to a role of mellow stress-relief gaming, i.e. no regular fixed-time gaming sessions anymore.

My 360/PS3 games are both at less than ten games each, with no backlog. My 360 only has a handful titles I'm interested in, and with the sole exception of ME3 I currently don't see myself adding any more unless I stumble upon ridiculous sales. I can foresee some of you mousing to the quote button in protest right now, but that's only because you're mostly from the 'murricas. German XBox Live is a joke, and a bad one at that. And since the 360 experience is tied to Live, well...

Current trends suggest my PS3 will be more favoured since its my most recent purchase and, well, the vast and empty onlines are free and I get to use my CC for purchases without the silly point crap. Plus the games are cheapish even at retail here, as is befitting for a third-place failure. Oh yeah, and even if the Wiis Browser handily beats the crap out of PS3s netfront abomination I still use it for lazy on-the-couch browsing. It's (barely) non-shitty enough enough to lurk.

My main focus currently sits on portables and PC gaming, but the former is too stale by now, and the PC is something I have to deal with on a daily basis because of my job so that lessens my enjoyment of PC gaming a great deal.

So, in the near future I'll probably adopt filthy Sbot tendencies.

Oh crap. Sony and Nintendo fanaticism in one package of all things, and sprinkled with PC elitism.

Someone shoot me now.  :'(

I'm probably setting you up for disappointment, but Little King's Story > the two Pikmin games.  Even though the comparison to Pikmin games may not be that spot on.  Pikmin is mostly an RTS with a great interface, LKS combines city building, rts, and top down shooter mechanics.  It's hard to explain but it is a really good game.

People arguing the gc was better because it got ps2 ports come off as people who didn't own a ps2.  What's the point of having a gamecube if another console has its library of games in addition to a substantial number of exclusives.  Between Wiiware and retail, the Wii catalogue actually has an identity.  Sure, its not getting Assassin's Creed and uh whatever the franchise staples that have emerged this gen are, but if one is willing to dig there is plenty of stuff to partake in.

i owned a ps2 and a gamecube - the ps2 for obvious reasons and the cube for 1st party and capcom games.  when a multiplatform game that i was interested in was released i'd buy it for the gamecube since it was invariably the better version.  this meant that i got quite a bit of use out of both systems.  the wii, like you say, has a more unique library, but i'm just not interested in most of it.  therefore for me at least gamecube>>>wii
