Dead Space 2 demo was great.  Has combat, puzzle, zero-g, and a bit where you try out the new suit.  Weirdest thing to me was that they have two different types aiming: a laser one that changes depending on what you point at (like the first game, RE4&5) and a the default static one that is always in the center.  I guess that's more for competitive multiplayer.

also, someone mentioned a littlebigplanet 2 demo coming as well

I really don't feel like creating a HK account. They're gonna be up on the US store when it gets updated later today, right?

Dead Space 2 is actually from the same team though, right?

Is it also coming out on the PC next month?  I still gotta finish the first game.  I"ll probably have to start all over since I forgot almost everything about the story except that my ship blew up.

What this guy said. I fucking hated being the errand boy in the first game.

Demo is really short. Like maybe 10 minutes.

The Issac voice is fine.

Seems very much like the original. If you liked that you will probably like this. And if you didn't like it you won't. Seems pretty simple.

P.S. It seems only the first printing of DS2 PS3 has extraction.

Ooh, might consider getting this day one, then. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not touching the DS demo.  I'm with demi that for story-based atmosphere games you know you're getting day 1 anyhow, why spoil the experience at all.

Will try LBP2 demo to see what's changed since LBP.  Will read impressions of PS3 ME2 to see if it's an awful port or one I can recommend to PS3 only people.

There is not enough content there to spoil anything really outside of you're going to be fighting monsters and bosses.

In that sense I think its actually a fairly poor demo for casuals. There is a longish video that tells you what happened in the first game and then its a very small section of gameplay from the second.

Is the demo up everywhere?  Dead Space kind of sucked, but with some real polish it could be a fairly serviceable Resident Evil knock off.

It feels exactly like the first. So I'm not sure what new level of polish you're hoping for but I doubt its there. I loved the first so I'm more than happy enough to do it again.

Can't really speak to mission variety since the demo is so short. Like I said though I have a feeling the same people will like, love, or dislike this game for essentially the same reasons as the first.

I haven't seen any video that seems radically different than a lot of the stuff we saw in the first game.

LBP2 - 2 gigs...lol

Will wait a month for retail release.

I want to hear about the ME2 port.  UE3.0 has never ran well on PS3.  If they pull it off, Bioware :bow

lbp2 demo is like two short levels

one is about the grapple (kinda lamer than I expected since it is automatic; I thought you would aim it) and one with animal vehicles.

It looks really good. I'm impressed.

I've never seen ME2 on the 360, so I can't give any comparisons.

edit: The game itself runs great. Some of the cutscenes have a weird screen tearing effect that isn't present when you're actually playing.

Mainly on the mission structure.  The game had a giant hole in the center where you were doing the exact same thing for like 8 missions.  It's the same thing that drug Bioshock down without any of the atmosphere of that game.
I don't understand why more people don't acknowledge this...

Very beginning of the game. There's another part that shows off the combat more, but I didn't play it.

I'm just glad it's different from beta. It should be a representative of the final product since all the new intros and voices (Mr. Fry)  are intact, unlike the beta. First level is the same, the second and third levels are different.

Also, I think the grappler in its current form is fine, a directional mechanic would greatly slow the pace of the game, at least from the implementations I've seen.

Edit: Ahahahaha when you select the "community" option you get a trailer showcasing some of the better user created levels of the beta, including some which featured heavy tearing. Oh god, this isn't a good sign.

Ah, I was hoping to get a peek of the comic section. Oh well.

Yup. Played a bit on the 360 and came to the same conclusion. The game is probably the most overrated this year, if not the entire generation. A weak man's third person shooter with poor production values.

He must be pissed because 360 has more stars

ME2 demo is pretty good, great in fact. Looks and runs like pc version, runs well, aside the occasional tearing. May be confusing for people who haven't played ME1, but there's a nice "Last time on Mass Effect" video. Before making your character and the intro. Don't remember if that was there on ME2 vanilla.

Either way, it's a damn beefy demo. It includes the entire intro segment, up until you gain Miranda and even a bonus part on Omega trying to recruit Mordin. Nice and lengthy.

Controls are weird for me because I'm too used to play ME with kbm now, but they're much better than ME1's on 360.
