...seriously though, I've never eaten RVC. My google image searching skillz tell me I ought to stay away. Looks like someone went mad with a DIY chemistry set. What's so good about it if you ignore the colour? The recipes I've found really don't make it out to be a unique cake.

Never had a good one, but it's due more to the cooks than the cake imo. My family can cook just about everything except Red velvet cake and dumplings, both of which turn out horrible. Luckily I've had good dumplings before
