Pulp Fiction, judging from the number of times I watched it. I can't really defend it on any kind of intellectual level, but it never fails to entertain me.

It's never gotten old for me. It also made me decide to go to Japan for the first time, which obviously lead to a fairly significant shift in my life. I probably watch it a couple times / year, and I own the fullscreen DVD, widescreen DVD, and blu-ray versions, making it the second most-bought copy of anything I own after Resident Evil 4 (GC, Wii, PS2, PC, iPhone).

In seriousness, my favorite movie would probably be either 2001: A Space Odyssey or Blade Runner. They're just two movies that I can, and have, watch over and over again, finding something new each time and enjoying it more than the last. Ten years ago, I probably would have said one of the Star Wars movies, but it's been a long time since I've watched any of them and I doubt I could watch any of them [even the really good ones] again like I used to. So, now it's 2001 or Blade Runner.

Schlinder's List
Pulp Fiction.

generally rotate around as some of my favorites but ask me on a different day and others would make the list. Impossible to pick one or even half dozen since a lot of great movies exist. It's a mood thing honestly.

Buying it more times doesn't make it any better?

Japanese filmmakers :( The anime films tends to be awesome.

I can watch (some) Miike films.

In regards to live action at least there's Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

Honestly, I worry more about hong kong/chinese film.

Blade Runner is just about perfect. Like GR, at some point I would have named one of the first two Star Wars movies, but they don't hold up as well with age, and Ridley Scott has managed to avoid going back and pissing all over his creation by going back to explain everything, poorly undo all the mystery, and make everyone related to everyone else in a series of shitty sequels. THANKS, MR. LUCAS.

You are silly. "Samurai" is Japanese. "Kung Fu" is (arguably) Chinese. I've heard it just means "skilled" so Patel can be kung-fu at cooking, or Kosma is kung-fu at the sex, etc. Anyway, Seven Samurai could be a martial arts movie, or a chanbara movie, but not a kung-fu movie. Though a Chinese guy might say Kurosawa was kung-fu at directing.
