I'm just hoping this competition will push down the plan prices.  $95 a month is annoying as fuck (even though I'm using the thing like every 5 minutes :teehee )  Texts should be free (I pay for 500 a month) and I should be able to choose a cheaper voice plan.

I don't care too much about simultaneous voice/data and won't care about international usage after my trip to the Czech Republic this summer, so I'll switch if Verizon comes up with some cheaper plans.

Cheaper plans would only happen in a free market :lol

No simultaneous voice/data on the Verizon iPhone. Fail.

It's because of the limitations of CDMA. It is kinda distinguished mentally-challenged, considering the rest of the world (and AT&T) uses GSM.

I think plans might start coming down if more people move to a provider like T-Mobile, which does provide really cheap plans.

No simultaneous voice/data on the Verizon iPhone. Fail.

This. Browsing/playing games/etc while talking to people is awesome and it would be uber lame without it.

I don't see how it's gimped. It's not on AT&Ts network.

You know people say that, but I've never had any problems with AT&T at all in my area. More people with iPhones is cool though, makes FaceTime more usable!

:bow

I live in a city that has a gigantic AT&T building, my coverage is wonderful

It depends where you live.  In between Oklahoma City and Norman my AT&T service is great and no one here (that I've heard) complains about it.  Where I grew up in the DC area hardly anyone has AT&T because service is so spotty and I noticed that first hand when I went home for Christmas.  There's no reason to have crappy coverage in a major metropolitan area.

It's not crappy coverage it's an overloaded system. AT&T has been saying over and over and over that their networks in New York, DC, and San Francisco are overloaded with so many people on the data side of things that it affects coverage. They're been working for the last four years to get those areas upgraded for higher capacity.

Chicago sucks too.  3 bars everywhere if you're downtown, northeast around lincoln park/lakeview, or west around old town or wicker park.  So...anywhere you'd actually want to hang.  I usually get a few brief drop outs on the bus.  It's still not unbearable by any means, it's just annoying knowing the speed isn't where it could be.

I didn't know you could talk and play games at the same time.  I don't like phones though, so my conversations are usually brief, logistics type shit.  That might have something to do with bad reception causing me to always have to repeat myself.

You're the last person I would expect to buy bullshit like that.  If they've known about it for over four years, why haven't they fixed it already.  No companies on the other networks have those problems...

AT&T only works in the bigger cities in Kentucky as far as 3G coverage goes.  Everywhere else gets shitty Edge network coverage that really loves to drop calls.  I had an iPhone 3G when I lived in Louisville and I loved it, but as soon as I moved away to a smaller town, I had an over-glorified iPod touch that could make calls sometimes.  I moved to Verizon after I had put up with that shit for 6 months.

Mobile hotspot is coming to all iPhone 4s with iOS 4.3 (3G FaceTime may too).
