The moment we step out of what our modern civilisation so generously provides is the moment we are humbled. When your money means nothing and all you have is a proverbial big stick you come to realize just what an awesome life we're living normally, far from the horrors of truly being part of a food chain, drowned in food and mostly one-use items of uniformly high quality, protected from the elements to a degree that we might as well live inside a space station. We have so much free time to think of awesome things because essentially we created our own space-time bubble to live in.
Without our social aspect, without others to provide when we can't, we are barely able to survive.
