In fact, there was only one guy I knew who got in that had below a 4.0, and he did so by getting a shit load of extracurriculars (only logical explanation).

My UC gpa was like 3.1 for the record.

I agree that gpa matters in regards to furthering one's academic career. I wish my college gpa were higher but honestly, I don't give a fuck and concentrated on my portfolio more than anything else.

I kind of regret that now because after I get some work experience I want to go to graduate school for my masters degree. I wonder how tough it'll be getting accepted in a graduate program since I'm a slacker.

oh i know, i'm the definition of an underachiever, it's frustrating having an IQ at least 20 points higher than the person ordering you around

~3.6 to 3.8 but that's only after getting bullshit extra points for honor courses. Honor courses at my school were really no harder than normal courses.

Yeah, Otis college. There's also a famous art school around Magic Mountain but I can't remember its name. It might be even more prestigious than Otis.

The fact that even idiots like this can get into UCLA is why I laugh whenever their students act like UCLA is a prestigious institution. Turning down their scholarship offer is still one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.
