No.
People who let their cats live outside are negligent.
It's almost as bad as letting your dog outside without a leash. Unlike dogs, cats can simply jump over a fence and do any-fucking-thing.
Poop in the neighbors garden, resulting in poisoning? Check.
Decimate the local bird population? Check.
Many outdoor owners have cats that are DECLAWED. Great! Now your pet can't defend itself when it gets in a fight!
Outdoor cats have the average lifespan of three years.
Add to the fact that there are millions of outdoor cats, strays, orphans, whatever and you do the math.
People with outdoor cats are often stupid and negligent and think the cat is harmless, when in reality, it's the combination of thousands or millions of cats in one area that does harm, especially to bird populations.
Unless you live in a rural area, there really is no excuse. What reason is there to have a pet if it lives outside?
