Whenever that happens to me, losing what I think is a story battle when its actually a real battle, I feel like the worst gamer ever. I usually stop playing the game and leave it alone for a few days.

the best "story based" battle i've played is Zone of the Ender 2. You face the big bad, Anubis early on and he pretty much destroys you. But the thing is, you can take a big chunk of health from him if your good enough at the combat. Eventually you're going to lose but i remember being about to knock off at least 25% of his health.

That's even worse $:-\$ If that were an RPG I'd be convinced he's beatable and use a shitload of spells and curative items like potions and phoenix downs, ultimately wasting whatever you collected just for a story function. I'd rather it was one hit kill.
