I saw an anime where a girl had applied for MIT, and eventually the other characters discovered it was because Massachusetts had just passed same-sex marriage laws and she wanted to be able to marry her sister. They had to break it to her that incest was still illegal in all 50 states, and also that her sister didn't like her like that.

It was a p. good anime.

Uh... this is weird.

My parents did, too except I was *three*.

So during the really violent parts they told me to put my head down or put a towel over my head so I got to hear the blood curdling screams of what I imagine was a shark disemboweling everyone in the movie simultaneously.

Makes it clear that the German scientists were nowhere near making an actual atom bomb (IIRC, they more or less engaged in a dead end direction during research, which is easier to say in hindsight) and that the recurring claims of "german nuclear tests" during the war by some are total bogus. Also a good reminder that while the consequences of radioactivity were perhaps underestimated, people were aware of the moral implications of nuclear weapons.

Also interesting to see how the British are constantly being credited for the bomb along the americans. Shows how deep the "Anglo-Saxon" propaganda construct had been drilled.
