I've watched way too many of these. The earlier ones don't have as much practical humour in them. One of the minor throughlines is his obsession with the porcelain cows he uses. There's also a subplot with a toy dog, but it 'dies' and gets a wistful goodbye. In one of them he does calligraphy. All he writes is "weirdo".
