I liked GTAIV. I liked how detailed and atmospheric the game was. The city truly felt like a place, or rather looked like one. For that I enjoyed it. But it sure wasn't a fun game. The story was nowhere close to being entertaining. I don't think something needs to be incredibly downer to also be more realistic and either way Rockstar stretched a very simple story way too thin.

While I think Saint's Row 3 suffers in the middle thanks to a great deal of it's missions feeling like side activites and not full blown missions. It's at least a lot more fun in every aspect. First it doesn't have shitty controls. 2nd, it's knows it's stories and characters are stupid and has way more fun with them because it, making something far more enduring. IV was extremely heavy handed with it's attempt at subject material and even then it wasn't really deep. The game basicly force fed you the same crap over and over again. While I do think some of the Rockstar humor was still in the game, it wasn't as good as past GTA games and SR3 has no problem standing up to it in that regard.

While I don't think SR3's environment is a great to behold as GTAIV, I do believe that SR3's graphics are pretty great if only for it' style and color palate.

At this point I think SR is pretty much a worthwhile series that doesn't need to be compared to GTA. I really disliked 1 and thought it was crap, but 2 was good and 3 has basically cemented the series as the over the top open world game. As this point nothing else compares to it and it is it's own thing.

Maybe it's just because I'm not really all that invested in console gaming these days as a consequence of having limited time for gaming in general, but reading through any Wii U thread is such a chore. I get favoring optimism. I understand liking Nintendo hardware because you like Nintendo games. Because people have died, and instead of having them in your thoughts, you bring up a debate that has been discussed time and time again. We have these debates every time  a shooting occurs. It gets pretty old, and the fact that people do it because of public shootings without a thought of all the people who have died without the news reporting it is disgusting. It's manipulative, reactionary, and at this point, hardly relevant. These bodies aren't even cold, they just died no less than an hour ago, and people bring up gun control? And you don't find this disgusting how?
