...that the parking spot is now theirs to own?
Now I shoveled my car out, but that doesn't mean once I decide to drive off somewhere I'm going to leave a folding chair or some other item as a placeholder on the parking spot to signify some misguided notion of ownership. If I return and the spot has been taken, that's life - it wasn't mine to begin with.
Last year, in the aftermath of Snowmageddon, I saw cones, chairs, walkers, baby-strollers all placed on parking vacancies by idiots who felt that performing - what is in truth - public duty that involved exercising some physical hardship in cold weather entitled them to private parking, and this was happening weeks after the last snowfall.
I hate stupid people.
