I'm 25 years old. I don't need all these consoles and games anymore when we got emulation.

I'm considering selling my beloved Genesis (the first system I owned :'( ), all my Genesis games, my Super Nintendo and all those games, my n64 and n64 games, and a giant bulk of psx, dreamcast, and ps2 games.

Who the hell would want a game gear?

The more recent machines makes getting rid of all my systems hard, however. ps3 can't play ps2 games, and Shenmue 1+2 and Jet Set Radio still aren't ported to other systems and they are currently the only reason I still have my dreamcast hooked up. Saturn doesn't seem worth selling, at least right now. It depends on how good saturn emulation is these days.

I'm going to keep the bulk of my psx games because it's my favorite system and most of the games are rare and not on psn (suikoden 2, tron bonne;etc). To be honest, psn and psp have made keeping most of my psx games pointless, but I still don't trust psn to fully retain all of my purchases in future generations since Sony likes to take out features so fucking much.

I don't even know what to do with the xbox. Gamecube isn't worth keeping due to wii.

I sold one a few weeks ago on amazon for about $20. That was with a controller, a/v cables, adapter. After shipping + fees, it would have been about a dollar profit, but I lied to USPS and sent it media mail. I didn't mind getting about $12 to get the thing out of my place.

I play JSR like once a year

I'll start a new game, get every character, and Jet rank every map.

I'm definitely willing to part with my entire collection except this gen, psx and ps2. I have over 100 ps2 games. I could get that number down to maybe 15-20 easy.

I sold all my old consoles and games a few months back. Got rid of most of my current gen stuff also at least on the software front. It was just time. I'm nostalgic as the next person but it was just time to move on. I'm just not going to play most of that shit anymore despite how much I like to think I would.

Got a good chunk of money for it too. Haven't looked back.

I just throw all my old stuff into my parents' garage since gamestop would only give me a buck or two for each game and it's too much of a hassle to sell them online.

Next time I'm in town I'll drop by half price books and sell them all there. Though in the mean time I'll make a list.

i've been doing this recently too, actually. as much as i love my game collection, i don't need 300+ games sitting around, while i DO need the moeny (and this collection is worth A LOT of money). ill never have the time to replay 99% of those games, so all they'll do is collect dust. plus i can replay most of them through emulators, which is why i'd urge you to sell your ps1 games too. the emulation is always perfect, but realistically by the time you actually get around to playing one of the flawed games they'll prolly have the issues resolved. i'd say only hang on the the games you are totally 100% sure you will want to play again and have no other way of doing so. make a schedule if you need to and sell off a game after you replay it if you know you're prolly not gonna replay it after that. there's just no reason to hold on to a large collection cuz it's just gonna collect dust. and of course omg teh moniezzz
